I currently have a Forrest River Campsite Ultra 19kb that weighs in at 5,100 lbs empty. My PB tows it with no problem even though the gas milage sucks. I am now looking at a Brinkley model IX 23 27 ft at 5,800 lbs empty. Trying to decide if this my be too big for my truck.

I don't think it's as easy as comparing 5100lbs to 5800lbs.

Or put another way, one 5800lb RV might just pull better than another RV that's a few hundred pounds lighter. It's more than just weight. For lack of a better word, it's also balance.

Best example that I can think of is if you hitch up to a large flatbed or tilt-bed trailer and then you drive your tractor up on it, it's amazing how differently it will tow depending on a few inches forward/backward you position the tractor.
Some RV manufacturers have 5 floorplans on the same trailer geometry. I'd argue that if all 5 weighed similar in weight overall, they still wouldn't all tow the same.

Fortunately, the Powerboost is going to be more than enough to yank the additional ~700lbs. Power certainly isn't the issue. But I don't know if anyone could tell you definitively if the Brinkley is going to tow better or worse. It WILL likely tow different, but if "dialed" in appropriately, it might pull better?

I pull a 27’ airstream Globetrotter. Empty is 6200, full with stock and spare parts for Alaska came in just over 7500. It pulls, and more importantly, stops just fine. I use a 3p hitch so there is no sway and the distribution is easy to dial in. I do believe the shape of the trailer really helps with the way it pulls along with its low center of gravity. I also never go over 65mph and treat towing with more care than the typical driver on the road. 10.9mpg over 12k miles.
I did drop a 6000lb Apex on the ball for a short distance a couple times and it was pretty bad. Wind blew the thing all over the place and it just generally sucked to drive down the road with. Trailer brakes were shot (10 would hardly slow down) and the center of gravity felt higher than the truck bed.

It’s my opinion that the truck will pull most reasonable trailers well IF set up correctly.

2023 PB 501a 4x4 short bed 7.2KW. PL=1658lbs.
Using empty weights and published hitch weights, is not the right way to look at it.

It will never be lighter than on the trip home from the dealer and the published weights, don't include batteries, or full propane tanks, both affecting hitch weight.

Use the max weight, because you'll eventually fill it (yes you will ) and use at least 13% of that as hitch weight.

If you have enough available payload for that, you should be fine.

Our trailers have similar enough GVW and yours is 3' shorter in length and almost a ft. shorter in height. It should tow very well in comparison, not that ours tows poorly in any way. The only caveat being, no idea where the fresh tank is on yours.

With enough payload on the truck and a dialed in WDH, you should be fine.

I agree... total weight is one factor, the biggest one is tongue weight... ie how much weight is being put on the truck... but generally speaking yes... just make sure you know your fully weighted tongue weight and make sure your WDH works with that weight... I making this over simple but you get the idea

That's a lot of payload. Your tongue at 5800# is around 800#-900#, so lots of headroom for passengers and stuff.

It's also within the 20/100 rule where an 100-inch vehicle wheelbase is safe towing a 20-foot trailer. For every additional 4 inches of wheelbase, you can tow an extra 1 foot of trailer. The Brinkley is 27'. You certainly have 138" of wheelbase.

Obviously, a WDH is called for, but sounds good.

Happy Trails.

I know what you are saying. Our current RV tows better than our previous that was 1,000 lbs lighter.

take a pic of the door sticker on your truck and post it. and get a tongue weight scale and with your trailer loaded up see how much your tongue on the trailer weighs

I Tow a Brinkley I265 with a 21 PB Lariat. I have a ProPride 3P hitch and the towing is awesome. The i265 is 7259# dry weight and 659# tongue so I think you will be fine.
However, the payload and towing numbers you posted appear to be just the numbers from the F150 manual not your sticker that is on the driver’s door.
Mine are payload : 1486# and max tow using the Ford towing calculator for my vin is 8341#.
When I bought my truck in 2021 the max payload for a Powerboost was on 1832#

I'm guessing you mean for 4WD Powerboost?

We still have a 2WD 2021 Powerboost that has been used to tow a crew-RV (aircraft mechanics) around the county and it has a Payload of
