Found this thin wire sticking out from inside of the driver side rear wheel arch. Did not see it from the other side. When is it and is it supposed to dangling out like this? I tugged it in alongside of the wheel arch.

It releases the gas cover, for when the powered button does not work.

It should be tucked in. Mine came out after a few days after delivery. Tucked it back in and has not came out yet.

It’s supposed to be tucked in, but mine dangled like that after the first real rainstorm. I tried tucking it back in, but it came right back out. I think that I ended up taping it to the inside of the fender with a small piece of duck tape.

Mine is so tucked in, didn't realize there was such an emergency pull for the gas cover.

Thanks OP for the question. After 11 months with the truck, mine just popped out and I assumed it was something I picked-up on the highway.

A little piece of duct tape worked for me.

I had no idea that existed. I will have to go look for it. The funny thing is that I put in wheel liners and I would have noticed such a thing. My truck came with a “pry” tool for opening the gas tank door which I took as being the only method to gain access in an emergency.

Did this get added to 22 or 23 models? I just looked at my manual and it appears 2021 MY trucks come with the pry tool only, no mention of a pull cord.

I don't remember getting a "pry" tool with my MY22 PB.
