Bought a used f150 and it had a tonneau cover with it. It was very faded when I got the car a month ago. Not sure what brand it is but it is a hard cover. I put my 303 protectant on it and it helped a lot but it seems to be fading again rather quickly. Any recommendations? Maybe I just need to be more liberal with the 303 application. I will admit I didn’t spray it that much. Just seeing if anyone else has any recommendations.

Would depend on what the material is. The f150 i bought used also has a hard trifold cover that is a lil faded but the top plastic layer is "warping"

Yeah I’m not sure. There’s no label anywhere on it. It is folding. I believe it’s trifold. Hard surface.

Searched that but doesn’t seem like that’s meant for that.

I am thinking Meguiar’s Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer to really get the black back and then periodically treat it with 303.

Are you sure that is plastic? Might be fiberglass or a aluminum over fiberglass combo type of thing? I think my bakflip was some kind of aluminum of fiberglass thing. Just running a roll up soft cover now, but I also need to clean it and probably hit it with 303 as well. Either way, I don't think you can hurt yours with 303, but if your going to put something else on it, I'd try to get as much of the 303 off by washing first, and then apply the 303 last? Or maybe just get a little more heavy handed with the 303.

Adam's Polishes "VRT"... They have regular version and also a version with Graphene in it for a more hydrophobic coating. Apply either with a soft foam block (also available from Adam's).

Honestly have no idea. I even popped my head inside to try and see if any branding labels, and nothing. You’re right though, it does feel more durable than straight plastic.

303 is great, I use it also on my retrax. Keep in mind its water based and you will need to regularly re apply it.

So I have the same tonneau cover, but apparently mine is way more faded than I thought lol here are some pics of the bumps. I'm pretty sure the construction is an aluminum frames with textured plastic sheets sandwiching plastic foam inside the frames.

If it's still fading even with some TLC, I'd bet it's a composite cover and not an aluminum cover. You'll need a water based solution to really soak into it, and it really doesn't look bad at all in these pics. Our RealTruck TruXedo Pro-Tex Tonneau Cleaner does wonders for these surfaces, and is a cleaner, conditioner and protectant.
