I looked into this at one time. Since the 5.0 doesn’t have (rightly so) a nifty stock boost gauge like the Eco’s, us boosted 5.0 guys have to add it. Like you I have a Whipple, so I contacted them. They recommended connecting directly to a 1/8” NPT port near the vacuum actuator on the front blower housing or one on the rear passenger side end near the gear box. From there most any boost gauge will do. I looked at Autometer and the Whipple boost gauge. There are other digital type units that derive boost somehow (Banks iDash for example) but I felt sourcing directly from the blower would be the most accurate. What's everyone go to...
I'd post up a thread and ask questions away.My first ford no idea what forscan is but I look it up..
Would you mind posing a picture of the gauge from sitting in the driver seat?I was unaware of the port on the front of the blower casing. I originally intended to use the port on the rear, but there was no access unless you remove the blower. So I went with Banks. Not as accurate as using the blower ports, but good enough for me.

The Banks gauge looks awesome however the handle mount blocks my tweeters. Since my truck is built for Sound Quality, that’s not an option. I might just enable the factory boost gauge and see how that works out.Cool thing about the Banks IGauge, you can also pull DTC's and erase them from it. It has so many options for data fields to look at. I look at boost, IAT, both Banks 1 and 2 AFR's and both Cat temps. Good stuff.
I thought the “factory” boost gauge is only available on a Ecoboost engine?I might just enable the factory boost gauge and see how that works out.
Post #4 in this thread says we can enabled it via forscan. I’ve not tried it yet.I thought the “factory” boost gauge is only available on a Ecoboost engine?
