Worse, is the single mom travesty. It's epidemic and actually celebrated. I am personally witnessing how destructive it is for the most valuable thing on this planet. Yours and My grandchildren.

No middle class family living today can survive without both parents working for income. I don't think it is cultural just the way it is now.

It's a chicken and the egg scenario. Excess labor depresses wages, while people spend on what they don't need, creating a situation where more is consumed thus more is needed.

Depends on definition of middle class, of course.
But a family willing to live a modest life in a modest home can absolutely live on one income. Of course it probably depends on state/region.

My dad put this in perspective for me since he knows I love my 5.0 so much :ROFLMAO:. We were talking about how expensive vehicles have gotten. He said something along the lines of “when I was raising you I was fine with my rusty V6 Chevy van and me and your mom built the house on a shoestring with your grandpa doing the electric and me doing the hvac myself, you drive a 400 horsepower V8 supercomputer on wheels that can do a burnout at any time, it costs a lot more to run that than a V6 Chevy van, but you are welcome to go buy a Carolla” and it sort of put that into perspective. I suppose GM and Ford have spoiled me the last few years with their 400+ horsepower tire shredding V8’s that I’ve come accustomed to growing up with in my middle and high school years. I’ll never forget when Ford dropped the 6.2L in the Raptor, EVERYONE my age strived to own that motor in 2011. You can still buy a regular cab V6 F-150 for 30 grand I guess. We all just want more more more.

"New" vehicles are easily one of the easiest ways to stop one from gaining wealth. Take for instance my MME I bought used because ADMs. A year ago I got one of the best priced units on the market. Today there's a model year newer being sold private party (more than a few) for nearly HALF of my 'good' deal.

Having bought my first used vehicle I can agree with that. I have always bought new in past but probably next time around I'll get another low-ish miles one or two year old.

Once they get the SSN error patched out, there should be some pretty decent deals on low-mileage used PB's with "manufacturer buyback" attached to their VIN.

I would assume that has to cut significantly into the value even if it is all repaired/recertified.
Seen a few F-150 "deals" online at dealerships selling salvage title trucks.
Not sure if I'd trust a buyback truck any more than a salvage truck.
Both are likely trouble free but the labels make for a hard sell.

Yes, but you can run the vin and see why it was bought back :)
