Is anyone having vibration issues at 60 to 70 mph? My truck started vibrating at around 500 miles. It is only when you are on the gas just enough to maintain speed. When I let off the gas it is smooth. At higher speeds the vibration goes away. Shifting to a lower gear does not change the vibration. The tires have been forced road balanced and the vibration still remains. I have a XLT 4x4 with 18" Wheels.
Ive got the same issue and the rough shifting as well such a bummer. Need to get it in for diagnosis

Well this is interesting, I just noticed this today. I thought I might have had a wheel balance issue as I was feeling a vibration up around 65mph up (I have roughly 3,300 miles). Didn't really bother me as I don't usually drive faster than that. Today however, I was on a glass smooth stretch of highway that has rolling up and down grades. When I accelerate slightly I felt the vibration which was more of a pulse/shudder in the seat only while under slight load. I'm not heavy on the gas ever. When I ease up going down the other side of the grade everything is glass smooth again. I tried various speeds up and down this stretch up to 80mph with same result. I locked out 10th gear, then 9th going up the grade and the shudder remained while under load. It was only while I was under load I could replicate the pulsing vibration every time. When I coasted down hill from 80mph down to 50mph it remained completely smooth. So I wouldn't think its a wheel balance or drive shaft balance problem? Feels like some kind of internal drivetrain issue.

Has there been any followup to the OP regarding this from Ford? To the Ford rep monitoring this, should we all PM you with our vin numbers to see if there is some manufacturing batch continuity?

Thanks

Ford rep Keeps telling me that the dealership has to be able to replicate it, dealership keeps saying they can’t replicate it. So I replicated it for them with the salesman that sold it to me in the truck. Waiting to hear what next steps are.

Characteristic operation? What, Ford is designing and building vehicles with a characteristic vibration now? They should celebrate the new feature in their advertisements.

"Tired of the smooth driving characteristics of other vehicles? Buy a Ford, our engineers have implemented vibration technology that you are sure to notice and share with your friends."

Mine vibrated once I hit 72mph exactly. Dealership just replaced the drive shaft. Its better, but still feels a little bouncy in the seat. Only driven it once since it got fixed on the highway.

Any more developments? Mine is better with premium gas but by no means resolves. . It feels like both an engine issue and a drivetrain issue. If you figure this out please post. I am frustrated

we are all frustrated, I had my limited in already for this exact issue and same ol same ol, ford is not able to duplicate the issues I describe to them. even after a test drive with me, the mechanic still said he didn't notice it? I'm waiting for my first oil change before bringing this up again to them !

Same issue here, starts at 55, most noticeable at 60, mostly goes away at about 70. Truck is a 21 F150 Tremor. Oscillating hum, it is most prevalent when accelerating and there is a slight vibration in the steering wheel. Extremely annoying and disappointing, my dealer can't look at it until 11/19. I have owned a 2007, 2013 and a 2016 F150, this has never happened before.

Hi Jack,

I stopped by the Dealership last week and spoke with the Service Manager. He had my file on his desk. He said they are waiting for direction from Ford. The did verify the vibration, but they don't seem to know what to do next. It has now been 2 months waiting for the call back from Ford. This isn't the type of service I was expecting on brand new vehicle.

Make sure ford has all your complaint information on your case number. The ford rep for mine hasn’t done shit and my dealership has been the one adding info on their end but the ford rep just created a ticket and never added any of the stuff I asked him to. I’m starting to regret trading in my functioning Chevrolet.

I had a vibration like the OP in my 2019 Ram Longhorn.

After some time, I was only able to fix most of it.

3 things, 1. I got a quality alignment at dealer. Numbers were off spec. They fixed those, showed me the new sheet. Problem kinda went away.

2. Get highest rated tire, on 18 inch rim, vs 20 or 22. The more rubber, the more vibration absorption from the road. Classicly, bigger sidewalls cushion a ride. Higher quality tires cushion even more.

Lower profile tires are stiffer. They feel more road imperfections. And the lower the profile tire, the higher likelihood you will feel if the tire is the least bit out of round. Out of round tires happen all the time. So with a bigger sidewall and more rubber, that out of round will be less noticeable.

I ended up going from 20s to the RAM Rebel Wheels with Michelin Defenders on 18's from that goofy and very hard Bridgestone tires. Fixed more of it.

3. Get a Hunter Roadforce balance. I realize the factory does a good job, and even have hunter road force systems. Some dealers do, some don't. You have to check around.

Hunter balances are more precise and can drastically improve vibration issues.

The driveshaft could also just be torqued wrong. Or flat out, something loose.

Techs at dealers simply looking to see if it's loose, and sees that it's not loose and dismisses it as the cause, are not seeing what they can't see with naked eye and general bolt checks.

If suspension parts aren't torqued right, you would feel that as well. The more refined vehicles get, and smooth, the more little torqued bolts imperfections are likely to be felt.

If it's vibrating only when you use gas, I would check drivetrain. If it vibrates when coasting, I would check the wheels, tires etc.

One more thing... improperly torqued lugs on a simple wheel could cause a vibration.

How do I file a complaint? Going through the dealer seems pointless

Ford rep is barely responsive. I've done all my communication with the dealer. I tried calling the ford rep a week ago to ask again about next steps and possible lemon law....they didn't return my message which was to call me back. Instead he emailed that he called the dealer today to confirm my vehicle was there yesterday and wanted to confirm with me. Didn't address any of my concerns. He literally hasn't done jack- called me once 3 weeks ago, emailed today, according to my dealer he never entered anything into the complaint case I opened through the ford rep that does respond on here.

After driving the vehicle with the NVH equipment the dealer thinks it is the driveshaft. They have one ordered, but it is back ordered for now.
