good advice. I used heat shrink tubing on bolts where they pass through aluminum from truck tool box to the bed.Very strong / robust. I installed L-Track along the sidewalls of my previously owned Honda Ridgeline, the system of both track and drop-in tie-down fittings was hell-for-stout.
The ultimate pull-out strength is going to be a function of the fastener system you use to mount the track to the bed and the spacing / number of those fasteners.
Yep, that's where the L-Track's low-profile really shines.
Being aluminum there's not any corrosion / compatibility issue with the L-Track itself on our beds, but if you use SS fasteners (recommended, IMO) you should isolate those from contact with the truck's AL components. See the attached Ford Guidance for ideas about how to accomplish that.
