Has anyone mounted uni-struts in the bed of their truck for tie-down points or for attaching stuff back there?

L track is great. I'm tempted to take some off the titan bed that nissan uses though. That Utilitrack system is TANKY.

Do you know if they can be installed in the bed floor?
yep. lay it out, mark holes, drill, bolt it in. you could do blind nuts/rivnuts too. Also, maybe need to run a strip of flat bar under the bed to strengthen it? it's pretty thin material (the bed)

Spring is almost here (good tinkering conditions), and this sounds and looks way better than the uni-strut. Thanks

ARE THEY PRETTY STRONG
Very strong / robust. I installed L-Track along the sidewalls of my previously owned Honda Ridgeline, the system of both track and drop-in tie-down fittings was hell-for-stout.

The ultimate pull-out strength is going to be a function of the fastener system you use to mount the track to the bed and the spacing / number of those fasteners.

Do you know if they can be installed in the bed floor?
Yep, that's where the L-Track's low-profile really shines.

Being aluminum there's not any corrosion / compatibility issue with the L-Track itself on our beds, but if you use SS fasteners (recommended, IMO) you should isolate those from contact with the truck's AL components. See the attached Ford Guidance for ideas about how to accomplish that.

Bonus on top of all the functional benefits - it's a great looking system! (y) :)

good advice. I used heat shrink tubing on bolts where they pass through aluminum from truck tool box to the bed.

Ford F-150 Uni-struts in the bed -- anyone install? L-track_bed

Image stolen from other F-150 forum. This guy installed l-track in his bed. I plan to do the upper corners highlighted in red in my box. When I haul lumber I would like to be able to strap down the front to keep it from moving around in addition to my tie down spot on the tailgate. A 6 inch piece of l-track fits perfectly in the red box spots.

I watched this video a few years ago and it shows the possibilities with l-track well.

That should work (y)

I used aluminum 'riv-nut' inserts for 'blind' SS bolting of an RV connector box in my bed sidewall. Not nearly the loading imposed by tiedowns but it is proving to be a robust mount.
