Underbody cover falling off at 36,198 miles

If that is the fiberboard cover I'm impressed it lasted that long. I would remove it and throw it away. Did same on my Gen 12. I also bought Raptor skid plate aka cheap cat shield to replace it.

HA! My first thought when I saw this subject title pop up was, you probably got 20k miles more than you should have.

That thing looks like nice critter nest material if it doesn't fall off first.

@Snakebitten has the right idea. Put it somewhere where the mice can chew it into nice nesting fluff and that might keep them out of the truck.

the steel plate does provide protection though for the road debris agaisnt that plastic transmission pan
that was my worry. we have far to much CRAP and four legged critters that impale themselves to the underside

its is very odd the 5/0 was left out, got nuts but no plate

Mine's a PowerBoost and it's the same - no plate, but had the nuts.

Last time I dropped mine for an oil change, it had all kinds of fur on it. Apparently the neighbors' cat was sleeping up on it for shelter.

mine had 2, 10 mm bolts on that little ear

its off now and i put the tremor skid plate on last year

around here the felt panel has a short lifespan from critters and stuff

I did my 1st oil change on my 23 lariat pb. I was surprised that there was no felt liner. I'm not a fan of the plastic transmission pan and I see a skid plate soon.

The Talons folks are super nice and make a great skid plate set. I strongly recommend an oil drain valve and hose for everyone, but especially if you get a good skid plate set.

Yea it came in today to my local dealer. I picked it up at lunch, took it home and removed old / installed new. Super easy. Total of 6 bolt holes, 4 for frame and 2 which align with the back edge of the oil pan metal protective cover.

Only 3 of the 4 frame mounting points had a corresponding hole in the frame, plus the 2 on the pan cover = 5/6 mount points attached. Drove local and highway, no issues. Everything lines up perfectly and in total it's probably 10" wider than the flimsy stock fiber unit, since it reaches all the way to the outside of the frame on both sides instead of using those extenders they connected to the stock unit to reach out there.

yes some 21 frames are missing the front holes??? then 22s fwd all had them
its an easy fix

mine had the holes in the frame, but i imagine one those not being attached would not make the set up be an issue
the frame holes up forward really give it strength when you bop it on a log

i used part of the old diaper to make the filler panel to cover the drain plug area
