Unable to Disable Navigation Alerts

I did about an hour of searching on the forum, and couldn't find an answer for this. If it is out there, I apologize for the double post.

While helping another member (who recently acquired a used 2021) with FDRS and Forscan edits, he mentioned random warning chimes with nothing on the dash. I immediately suspected navigation alerts, but when we looked at the settings, they were all greyed out because he doesn't pay for the navigation connected-service. We went for a drive, and the dings always happen at school zones, which is a navigational alert.

It seems like they were "on" when the connected nav expired, and now they cannot be edited. Does anyone know how to turn these alerts off without paying for Navigation to re-enable the menu? Maybe there is a forscan register?

It’s been awhile since I last saw this issue and my info is dated, but if I recall correctly the only fix was to renew the navigation subscription and disable the alerts while it’s active. But I agree, there should be some kind of FORScan toggle.

I also remember the only solution being to activate it. Both now and back then I wondered if it could be done in Forscan

Looks like customer service has hooked the guy up with a 5 day trial so he can disable the alerts.

Who did he talk to for that? I have a weird glitch where breadcrumbs have activated on my disabled Connected Navigation, but I can't turn them off because the switch is in one of the greyed out menus. I tried Ford Customer chat who couldn't comprehend the issue I was having.

I know this is not a new posting, but I was instructed to do a factory reset. That appears to have worked. I was in the same boat. My subscription had expired, and I did not wish to renew.
