Hello, I recently bought a 2022 F150 that was originally a v6. The previous owner swapped in a 5.0 and trans from a 2021. The swap also included the complete interior and all the modules from the 2021. The truck does not have any issues and the swap was done correctly. The VIN on the truck is what is listed on the title but when you plug in a scanner or tuner, the VIN shows from the 2021. This will obviously present a problem when I go to register it and they plug into the OBD2 for emissions.
I have access to Forscan and have used it several times to make small changes to several vehicles I have owned. In researching this I understand the VIN can be changed by forscan but do I need to do it in more than one module. If I change it in the PCM will this create other problems. My goal is when I have the emission/inspected done, I need the VINs to match the truck body.
Not trying to do anything shady lol!
Thanks!
