Canadian truck in the US

Hey folks

just picked up a 21 xlt. The truck came from Canada and anytime a make an ipc change or really randomly it’ll revert back to km and Celsius. Anyone know if a way to make it default to the US so it stops doing that?

Not sure. My buddy also has a Canadian truck that’s here in Michigan. 18 XLT. When I use forscan to change things in his truck it does the same thing and we have to change it back. Not a huge deal but I agree would be nice to have it default to US.

I took a peak today and i actually have a 9 in there and confirmed on my motorcraft service as built data that a 9 is correct from ford.

I'll try a 0 nd see what happens

The 0 seemed to have no effect so i put the 9 back in there and will try to find a US build with the same options to compare

Try this:

US (Blue) vs. Canadian (Green)

First 4 characters are the country code. 5th is the unit selection.

Changing all 5 might work for you.

Well fellas, No dice. I even changed the country code in the APIM thinking because that's where you change the units maybe something was conflicting.

I do notice my speedo checkbox in the settings menu of the IPC is opposite now. If i check it for MPH it switches the readout to KPH and vice versa.

I need to go back to the plan of finding a US truck with same options and comparing the as built data.

I’ve changed anything and everything that has to do with country in the ipc, apim, and ipdm (the camera one) and none of it helped.
I reached out to livinitup since he does reprogramming and he said it’s most likely hardcoded in the ipc and would need a reflash. He unfortunately is only flashing the big lariat and up all digital displays.
Looks like we’re stuck with changing it back to ‘Mercian after any change or update.
