Tremor off the lot or wait for order advice

Hi folks new to the forum, not new to F150s.

I ordered a Tremor with the Torsen and Bed Utility Package (News to me it’s required to get led box lights, tailgate step and Zone Lighting on 402a)

Fast forward to yesterday, I found a Tremor coming into a local dealership that’s willing to honor x plan even though it’s not a custom order. It does not have bed lighting, tailgate step or zone lighting.

I’m torn because the one I ordered has these options but who knows what price increases and option deletions can happen to my order since it’s about 8 months away. At least I know what Id get with the one off the lot.

TLDR: Ordered a tremor with more options, Tremor with less options showed up on the lot. Ordered tremor may end up losing more features and costing more.

How would y’all proceed?

Almost any option can be added these days with a little patience and tenacity. You do not have to live without if you are determined.

The tail gate step would really be the most critical of what you listed to me. AMP research probably has one of the small fold out steps for the back corner so that may work for you. I have one of those for a Tacoma and it is great but that tail gate step looks much better.

Like Snake says, a Tremor in the hand might be worth two in the Ford production schedule. Aftermarket items can always be had.

That makes a ton of sense y’all! In a normal world I’d likely wait but in this world who knows what else Ford will remove in 6+ months. The tailgate step is definitely one that hurts the most but AMP seems to have a solid alternative.

Dealer was even shocked the step and lighting wasn’t included in the high package as it was last year which is why they didn’t order it explicitly as part of the Bed Utility Package.

Can the parts be ordered to put the step and proper trim for the step and add it yourself? Has anyone tried that yet?

Buy the one on the lot if you like it and keep the other order in the works. You may actually be able to trade this one in on the ordered one and not lose any money. Or at worst get your deposit back when the other one comes in, I'm sure the dealer won't mind.

I believe it's a different tailgate altogether. Expensive unless you can find a doner truck

I did not know and Ford has this thing for making m9st everything modular in construction (cost savings thing) a lot can be swapped with these trucks.

mine did only because i was local and ......it had been on their lot since nov. i think that helped alot

As others have said..."bird in the hand".

With the options missing, I'll assume the "lot" truck is cheaper than the "ordered". You can apply that towardS the step and bed lighting (step $170 Amazon; bed lights $150). So all you've lost zone lighting.

Dealer accepting x-plan on a "lot" truck is a definite positive.

I did the same, except the Platinum I got had more than the Lariat I ordered. The Lariat is still collecting rust since it's January blend date with no shipping ETA.

I would buy the lot truck and when the ordered truck comes in decide which you want. You can sell the lot truck on Carmax or Carvana and might break even or come out ahead. I say go for it also.

By the way, congratulations on the incredible good fortune of finding a Tremor first, and then getting an Xplan opportunity to boot.
