I know @Snakebitten will find a way to put positive spin on this with his effusive optimism ;) , but I find it kind of unacceptable. I guess we're entering a "whole new world" with OTA updates to our vehicles, but under no circumstances should they be left undriveable due to a botched update. Individuals messing with FDRS or Forscan is one thing; the vehicle manufacturer causing this error is a different story. Now obviously this is not a common occurrence but crazy nonetheless.
well, it’s just like a phone or a computer. Something happens to the Internet while the uploads processing it throws a fault.

However, it seems that the OP was able to drive away so hate to say it but no harm no file just a pain in the butt.

Reviving this thread. Same thing happened to my wife today. She drove 5 minutes away to a grocery store and everything was fine. Came out of the store 10-15 minutes later and gets the 'System Update Fault, Vehicle Not Driveable' message as well as a 'Resume Control' screen after she started the truck. She asked if she should drive the truck home and since it seemed to running okay I told to drive it home. The resume control message stayed on the whole time until she got home. After shutting the truck off and letting it sit for about 5 minutes, the messages were not there any longer. I then checked the update status in SYNC and found a successful update message for "Ford Power-Up 4.3.6" (of course the message in SYNC did not show the date installed). But, checking the Ford Pass App for any update info, I found the last update reported in the app was Sept 25th and was for "Enhanced Stability" 24-PU0223-VI-RBS2.

Obviously not a normal occurrence, but any other insight on this issue would be greatly appreciated. A wink and a nod now aimed at @rugedraw :)

Thanks to All!!

Whatever happened did not report any codes to the cloud. If you have FORScan, pull the codes with that. Last OTA you got sent was on 10/9, so whatever this is was not due to an update.

OBDLink app with the enhanced Ford PID can also pull the same codes. Doesn't need the subscription like Forscan.

Hate to revive a thread from almost a year ago, but I'm experiencing a similar issue with my 2022 Lariat. Truck was running fine on my way to work, and when I got to the office, parked, and went to shut off the truck, it threw that error up on my screen. I can restart the truck, put it in gear and move it, so will I be able to drive it, or am I screwed right now? When I restarted it, I did see a bunch of random messages come up, like a "Driver Alert Warning Rest Suggested" (although I only drove for 15-20 minutes to work...).

Did you get it resolved?

Looks like it worked itself out. I went out later in the day and fired the truck back up, no error message on the dash, and I took it for a test drive around the business complex. Stopped and shut off the truck a couple of time during that loop and nothing came back up. Running fine now, so hopefully just a fluke...
