This newly filed patent keeps that trend going by introducing an idea for a multi-vehicle sound system that could essentially pair the audio systems of multiple vehicles together, creating a bit of an impromptu, mobile surround sound system.

Wonderful. Now instead of an underwhelming audio experience in just ONE vehicle, we can get an underwhelming audio experience in MULTIPLE vehicles at the same time.

This is strange, not sure where anyone would actually use this. I was thinking along the lines of a walkie talkie system for a fleet of trucks that could talk with one another quickly out in the field. But, have multiple vehicles sit in a circle with audio going doesn't seem very beneficial to me.

Given that multiple bluetooth speakers can do this, it's not novel. They're trying to be patent trolls with solutions that aren't. Perhaps they plan to delete radio entirely only to try and 'fix' it via this method. Ford should go to a fireworks show where everyone is listening to the participating radio station. LOL

Now how about hyper focused phased audio systems to pipe each occupant unique audio that doesn't suck.

A few years ago, some buddies and I tried an app that claimed it could pull this off. It worked for about the first 2 min before it started getting out of sync. All over cellular connection, to be expected. Personally, I would prefer the effort be spent providing a gain control for the center channel on the unleashed. Totally get your point though. Stick a flag in this idea, it's ours, so no one else gets it first.
