I have a 2021 Ford F150 XLT with 302a package. It states that I have LED lighting. From what I have heard is that it has LED's with a reflective housing? I might have the terms wrong. Is this a different light's that are in the Lariat's and above?

When I am looking at replacing the lights inside the housing many of the vendors refer to LED lights fitting in the "halogen" light housings. Is that what my housings are? or are they different than the basic halogen housings? I just don't want to order the wrong LED's.

Why? I have the same ones and they’ve been great thus far. They are not projector steering following LEDs but they are nice and bright imo.

I have done some driving with them. I'm not sure if it was consumer reports or who it was but they gave the F150's a C or D in lighting. The halogen were rated extremely poor but they weren't impressed by the LED. They seem to be ok, I felt my 21 Explorer Platinum were better but it could just be me.

I started a new job and will be driving more at night. I definitely want bright lights but I also do not want to blind people. lol

Congrats on the job and get whatever you need to be comfortable and confident I say. My eyes aren’t nearly what they used to be and more light helps.

I have no issue with the LED lights on my XLT PB. They are brighter than halogens without being blinding IMHO.

These are super bright, I would leave them be and supplement elsewhere, possibly behind the grill, or a small discreet light bar. Also, make sure you rename your fog lights, most are aimed to the ground and our pointless, I went and aimed them as high as they will go and they are perfect, cheapest mod I did.

F150led.com is a pretty good source, but of course so is morimoto, but they are pricey.

I can't tell what kind I have (re: super dumb lol) I have 21 XLT 302A - the window sticker does not say "LED headlights" so I must have halogens?

I do have: LED Side Mirror Spotlights, and LED BOX Lighting (which the window sticker does say)

I thought my lights were pretty good. I did Forscan the DRL's to be super bright so that helps a bit.

Thanks.

There are 3 types of lights on gen 14, halogen reflector, led reflector, and led projector. You have the led reflector, arguably the brightest of the 3.
Oh, interesting! Thank you for the information.

XLTs get the reflector LED headlight assembly. Lariat 500A and 501A also get the reflectors. The Lariat 502A and trims up from that get the LED projectors.

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
These 2023 Ford XLT LED's are the best headlights I have ever had on a vehicle. The brights really work with a sharp cut off line on high beam, further concentrating the light.

To contrast, I have LED's on my 2023 GMC Yukon Denali XL. They are very disappoing headlights. I have been trying to figure out how I can get more light out there without altering the grill. Bottom line, I'm cutting holes, bolting to the grill, or nothing. The wife, her car, mandates nothing.

You will not find a better LED on any vehicle without additional lighting. I do about 25,000 miles of night for the last 40+ years. Believe me, I know what works. And 100 % of the lights prior this F150 did not work.

What is a DRL forescan mod that makes LED's brighter?

I guarantee Consumer Reports was not reviewing Ford LED headlights.
