Took the family RV camping for a few days before Thanksgiving since the kids all have the week off from school. (I don't ever remember getting the whole week, but that's another story for another time)
Lake Morena is in Southern San Diego County mountains at about 3500' and a 45 min drive for us. Weather was clear and nice, but dropped into the low 40's at night (yes, still warmer than other parts of the country, but I live in San Diego, so that is cold for us!)
A flock of wild turkeys visited the campground each morning. Dog wasn't sure what to make of them, but they kept their distance and let us watch them from a far.
Dinners were dutch oven beef stew and bacon squash soup with campfire cooked pop biscuits. Breakfast was bacon & eggs. Somehow the hashbrowns got left in the freezer at home. Probably my fault.
Truck did well pulling the trailer. Only issue during the trip was the propane didn't work on the RV so the furnace didn't work at night. Extra blankets for everyone. At least the water heater was electric so we had hot water.
Dog was glad to be back at home when the trip was done.
