By clean I just meant clean, a sponge and pressure washer or something. You might be surprised but I didn’t need a wire wheel at all. The Rust Dissolver spray did just that after I let it sit for a while, so I was able to scrub it off with a regular brush. I only messed with the axle, so just unpainted iron components. I didn’t replace any hardware, probably cleaned it up the same as the axle and painted it, but I don’t remember it being that bad. I was a bit pissed so I didn’t think much about the warranty but I think they said it would be fine. I’d take a picture of it now but we’ve had snow constantly and it couldn’t look worse under there. When I spray it with the hose in a few days when it warms up it should look new again. Here are the products:That's great man! Thanks so much! When you say clean, were you using a wire wheel to get off the bulk? I'm assuming this protective coaring you just used on the iron components? Did you replace any bolts or nuts? Also, any concerns about this effecting your warranty? I plan to add the Ford ProCare 8/100k plan.
If it's easy, please send pics of the products. I've seen some come in liquid and spray and they each have different results for the same product.
Thanks again! Seeing your results are very promising. Too bad Ford wouldn't do something like this at the time of assembly.
