Sorry for influencing you to geeking.
But you gotta admit that it just feels better KNOWING what is going on, even if it doesn't prevent something from throwing an alert or acting haywire.

If nothing else, you will become one with what's "normal", so you will definitely notice anything that's not.

Since you did grab the Bluetooth battery monitor, is the truck keeping the static voltage above ~12.3?
I do like knowing the state of the batteries. Makes me feel like I can rest assured my truck will actually start the next AM. Also, paying attention to the the various dashboard displays you’ve shared has made my driving more eco friendly. I got 28.3 MPG over nearly 23 mi today driving from work to some nursery to pick up a tree for my wife.

Being on this forum has gotten me more interested in the tech of the PB. Although buggy AF, it’s pretty impressive.

Yes, the truck keeps the static voltage above 12.3. Although I will admit that once I start noticing a low charge I hook it up to the charger.

I know exactly what you mean. Me too!
You know what we are really doing is refusing to let our AGM be slowly starved to death. Or at least avoid living on the 12.2 edge.
And the monitoring is worth it just to see how long I can keep the battery healthy regardless of the factory strategy.

I think he's still in beta stage until he is happy with a lithium battery management solution.
My "daily" drives, are often enough, a week apart and the majority of them, will only be 8 miles, one way, so I imagine I'm gonna be a high probability candidate for low battery troubles.

I've bookmarked your battery monitor, have an AGM compatible smart charger and have no compunction against putting in as big an engine batt as will fit, essentially immediately.

And a LiFePO4, under the seat, makes perfect sense.

I have an older AGM Jump Pack too but if it is something to see common use, will probably get one the of the newer lithium versions.

I think you'll be fine if you keep an eye on the AGM (monitor) and if/when you see it looking anorexic, give it an overnight intravenous feast.

In my opinion, if the truck gets driven, it's a slow starving. Easy to intervene in time.

A rarely driven truck needs to be treated like a garage queen toy, or a boat, and be treated to trickle charger heaven.

Going from an 01, to a 23, especially that particular span of yrs. you have to expect a big learning curve but garage queen and me, are not compatible points in the space time continuum :)

Boat maintenance, ok. I get that.

I'll still want to get it as close as I can to a set it and forget it, type thing and if that means I need to throw another grand or so at it, so be it.

Garage Queen =Think Porsche. ?
Or anything with an internal combustion engine that gets a favored spot in the garage because you would never even let rain touch it.

As for throwing a grand at the issue

$120
$100 for a decent smart charger or trickle charger
$20 for the monitor

BTW, I have one of them garage queens. It's a 2005 Porsche and they are notorious for killing an AGM in a week just because you didn't lock the doors.

I have a long fuse with the Powerboost battery maintenance concerns because I can SEE the 42 modules that make up this marvel of technology.
I have toys in the barn that need trickle charging and they are almost analog compared to the Powerboost

I've had other sorts of things I collected and had tons of fun with but now I'm on the other end of life, where half the stuff in this house needs to go and I already have all the projects I can handle.

If you can't be assured the thing will start dependably in your garage, how do you take it out to the boonies and power a camper with it? Thats specifically why I bought it.

I know these boards tend toward the negatives statistically but this is seemingly such a common problem ... People being stranded for hours, jumping through all sorts of hoops, calling dealers and tow trucks,, over batteries.

Will it not jump start when it is doing that?

I've done zero research on these things yet. Just that I know they exist, so this is not a rec.

https://www.amazon.com/NOCO-GB70-UltraSafe-Lithium-Gasoline/dp/B016UG6PWE/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?

But before I allowed myself to be stranded and go through any sort of other voodoo to try to get the thing to start, I'd be hooking one of these or similar up and be on my way.

I know you guys have posted somewhere before, but any chance of sharing a link to the battery monitor you guys prefer ?

I may do a simple test this weekend, see if I can reproduce the issue. To confirm, it is the battery under the backseat the powers the 'accessories' which is why all things light up and work. My test would be a simple loosening of the negative terminal on battery under the hood.

If I end up blowing up the batteries and I my garage , I'll try and update here :)
