Just took a look under my brand new 2025 F-150 Platinum. 49 miles on it, bought at FL dealer a few weeks after landed on the lot. Been sitting on the FL lot since delivery. I've heard of the rusty axle but thought they had the issue resolved. Looking under our X7, it looks like it should, completely like a new car that was built out of parts that are new. Are you guys seeing this level of rust on your brand new vehicles? Is this something I should bring back to the dealer? I'm honestly shocked. 85k truck. Are they all like this?

Ugh, I was I was afraid of that. If this is what I can expect on any other F150, like the keypad, it's take it or leave it, Geez. I love the truck, can't accept it like this though. No joke, when I look under my wife's car, it's a thing of beauty and it's a year old. These pics make me think the parts sat outside on pallets for a year or more before being installed.

Maybe I should change my plate to WALLE

Damn, that's some good work right there ? Hits home ?
As a fellow Plat owner, I'm sick for you... I know there's humidity down there but that looks worse than some Canadian trucks I've seen.
Sorry man.
Maybe you can do some sort of treatment and have it sealed somehow?

I hear ya, was thinking maybe it put 40 miles in the salt. That rust doesn't look new to me. I'm from FL though, what do I know. Ugly, that's for sure and not what I'd expect for a brand new truck , especially at that price point.

My 23 STX still has less rust than that and I live in Buffalo NY lol. It’s strange how some leave the factory.

My 24 KR has the rusty rear axle and some rust on various suspension components. Yet the 22 XLT 302a I had prior had no rust at all on the rear axle. I see SonarChief's 24 KR has no rust at all.
It all seems so random, some get rusty parts, others get spotless undercarriages, even from the same factory. (KC vs Dearborn). Weird.

Unfortunately, it's hit or miss. My '24 STX is spotless underneath. When I sold my '17, it was damn near rust free as well.

Crazy! I cannot believe that ford considers this good enough to deliver to customers.

Agreed on my wife’s q5 is a ‘16 and still looks like new. Not a spec of rust.

My 2008 4Runner was spotless too… until that trip to the bonneville flats. I learned salt is quick to turn things rusty!

My guess is maybe some ford suppliers give their parts a salt bath before shipping them over to the assembly line? You know, for quality.

It's perfectly normal for cast iron components to rust, and doesn't affect structural integrity, and pretty much unavoidable. From an aesthetic standpoint, there are various products you could spray on to coat and retard any further rusting (not exhaust of course). Look on the bright side; at least the body won't look like a Chevy or a Ram in a few years!
