Rubber Powerboost engine cover

Was looking under the hood and saw this on the rubber engine cover. It looks like it was rubbing against something but don't see anything that could be affecting it. Anyone else experience this?

Throw that thing in the trash anyway. It's only purpose is to reduce noise from the DI fuel system, and to trap heat

Brother you need to get some R/ Mouse killer and put under your truck , my friend Wiring harness was completely eaten up , wires cut in half. The whole thing had to be replaced . Your warranty won't cover that !! Believe me !! His insurance did cover part of it. You got squirrels around your truck? Get a BB Gun !!

It does keep all the Dirt and road dust off the top of the engine ! Believe me. One of my trucks didn't have a cover , on it and it's Filthy Dirty.

In the case of mine it also keeps water from dripping on the intake from the leaky cowl assembly.
