I'm just curious about the function of the vertical rubber dam between the cab and bed on each side of my '23KR. Anyone have any thoughts?

It's like the tag on a pillow. Useful as tits on a bull, but I was always told by my mother that if I cut that tag off, God would kill a kitten and the police might haul me off to prison.

I think it’s to reduce dust coming in through the side and then covering the rear window. Kind of like the spoilers on the back of SUVs.

I am sure it's part of the aero stuff to control airflow around the truck
Wonder how much ? ? ? ? ?

Isn't there a cabin vent on the backside of the cab? Maybe to prevent buffeting with the cabin pressure and HVAC?

Either that or aero as mentioned before. Or wind noise.

My guesses anyway...

It's to dampen down on the vibrations that could possibly set off the overfilled sensors on the blinker fluid reservoir. Also doubles as wings to help with the gross vehicle towing capacity while pulling U-Haul specific trailers. connected via the cellular antennas on the roof and the constant velocity springs which coincidentally also have monitoring sensors connected to the seat bottoms that monitor your passengers weight. See diagram 0u812- ywca of the new and improved owners manual listed in your features setting of sync-6 soon to be updated and implemented by aforementioned cellular antenna (functioning est. 2029)

or not

What ever the reason is, I like it. Trucks I had before would collect dirt behind the cab, and you could only reach in so far when washing, leaving an unsightly mess deeper behind the cab. Now you can easily clean that area up to the rubber gasket when washing.

Creates a deadzone for air (NVH mitigation) and also makes the truck look more premium by not seeing daylight on the other side.
