Someone in another thread/forum mentioned not using the Auto Light/Dark setting and just using Dark 24/7 if you are Sync 4.2.2. Tested that today and now I’m not having any issues with all the audio glitches and cameras locking. That’s an odd software bugNew to the forum, but have a 2023 Raptor on 4.2.2.2 that has a ton of Sync issues when the auto lights turn on, parking sensors turn on, cameras turn on etc. What happens is the audio will glitch and freeze, the screen may completely lock up, phone call audio may drop, and so on. When the system totally freezes, it’ll reboot after a couple minutes and will say “Raptor Saved”.
With all those issues, it sometimes makes it to where trying to listen to music or use the parking sensors/cameras just isn’t worth it.
Can someone check on VIN 1FTFW1RG2PFA56981
Thanks!
Dark looks better 24/7. If that really is an issue it could be why I never see any bugs. It was one of first settings I changed after master reset rolling off the lot.Someone in another thread/forum mentioned not using the Auto Light/Dark setting and just using Dark 24/7 if you are Sync 4.2.2. The issues you are reporting after 4.2.2.2 are quite common. There are a few thread where people are reporting similar issues. It seems to affect carplay users more than Android. I am an Android user and have found that using the wired connection works much better than the wireless one.New to the forum, but have a 2023 Raptor on 4.2.2.2 that has a ton of Sync issues when the auto lights turn on, parking sensors turn on, cameras turn on etc. What happens is the audio will glitch and freeze, the screen may completely lock up, phone call audio may drop, and so on. I see a dealer performed the BC activation program 2 weeks ago, but you say you already have BC from a previous OTA update? I guess the dealer didn't bother checking if your truck had BC in it or not and just ran the procedure blindly.I am very happy to contribute for you time via Venmo if you can answer my questions—whenever you have a chance.
I purchased my 2021 F-150 on 1-27-21. VIN 1FTFW1ED0MFA57991. Waited well over a year. . . but finally received an OTA update with BC. It worked reasonably well—but had the known issues. Then I started hearing about all the BC improvements that Ford has been touting with BC 1.2. Then I received a notice in the mail saying take my truck to Dealer for update 21G01 — which I assumed was code for BC 1.2. I took it in and got it back last week. I went for a test drive on the interstate to try the lane change and other new features I’ve read about with BC 1.2. Alas . . . I can’t tell any difference. No Auto Lane Change , nor the other 2 new features (unless I’m doing something wrong). Here are my questions:
1. Please run my VIN and tell me what you think. What version do I have. How close am I to being current? How close am I to having what’s needed for BC 1.2?
2. IF update 21G01 doesn’t come with BC 1.2 . . . What’s the purpose? Is It any better than the BC I received OTA?
3. What is your Venmo (again)? Thank you.
I see the dealer performed a PMI procedure on your APIM, so I am inclined to say they did it right. Your Sync version appears blank in PTS, so with the info I can see, I am limited. If they did correctly get your truck out of OTA limbo, that does not mean the sky will part and updates will start raining down from OTA heaven right away. All it means is that whenever your truck is designated to get an update sent to it, you will actually get the OTA trigger and have a chance for the update to download and install. There is no way to force an OTA to be sent to you. Calling Ford is a total and complete waste of time. The people that answer the phones are clueless.Hey Y'all, first post and looking for some guidance. Bought my truck used in January, pretty sure it's A job 1 truck based on the other forums I've read and I don't think Sync has ever updated. I stumbled upon another thread when looking into why I couldn't set automatic updates which triggered me to reach out to my local dealer. I have been back and fourth A few times asking for updates and for A while they were no help. Two weeks ago I finally got A service agent who gave A S**** and after 8 days without A truck I am the proud owner of A new APIM. The dealer claims that I "should" now start receiving OTAs again but up to this point, nothing. Ford Pass is no help either, on the App it states I am "up to date", when I go to ford.com and search my vin It reports an error, requesting I check back soon and has been that way since the new APIM was installed. I called the OTA team this morning and the rep told me to set my auto updates to 1am on A weekday and after 30 days if I still don't receive an update they can escalate the case.
Im desperate hoping you all can help (rapidly approaching 36k miles), now that I have A new APIM and am able to set automatic updates, will I actually start receiving them or am I going to have to continue to fight the dealer and/or go the mongoose route? Any help is appreciated!!
VIN for reference: 1FTFW1E81MFB55091
That is somewhat positive news I guess that the dealer did things the right way but about what I expected that it wouldn't immediately solve the issue. I completely agree with calling ford being A waste of time but at this point I'm not sure what other options I have to create leverage if I do need to start an all out war at the dealership.I see the dealer performed a PMI procedure on your APIM, so I am inclined to say they did it right. Can you turn on auto-updates now? When you got to you "about sync" screen, what Sync version does it say you have?
The dreaded Sync version is 20301, and you're on Sync 22146 now, so you are out of OTA purgatory. It is just a matter of time before you start getting updates. However, it is a slow process and it will be a loooooong time before you are up to date. Now that the dealer did the hard part, you are a good candidate to get a Mongoose (or get in line to borrow one of mine) and update the truck yourself. That is somewhat positive news I guess that the dealer did things the right way but about what I expected that it wouldn't immediately solve the issue. I can turn on auto-updates now, however I can only select one day of the week at A time. My wife's bronco is up to date (or more up to date than my truck) and she can select multiple days which is annoying because I am switching the automatic update schedule every day manually.
Here is what the screen says, dreaded revision 145. Worth noting, before the APIM replacement I didn't have A revision number which caused me to investigate in the first place.
Thank you for your help by the way!
