Truck is on the latest Sync version and has recent updates in OTA history. There are still modules with pending updates, but nothing to worry about in this case.

You're good to go. It is just a matter of time of waiting for updates to be sent. As far behind as you are, I would recommend you look into FDRS and go that route.

Requesting a VIN lookup if anyone would be so kind.

Seems like your APIM was recently replaced and the dealer did all the updates your truck needed. Send me a pic of your "about sync" screen. The truck does not seem have to synced up and it is not showing my any info on what software your truck is on now. On the surface, it looks like they did everything right.

Seems like your APIM was recently replaced and the dealer did all the updates your truck needed. Send me a pic of your "about sync" screen. The truck does not seem have to synced up and it is not showing my any info on what software your truck is on now. On the surface, it looks like they did everything right.
I bought the truck as a CPO 8 weeks ago yesterday. The “automatic updates” button was stuck to off. So I took it in after talking with ford tech support they diagnosed and replaced the APIM. when I got the truck back I was on version 21146. But the last time I spoke to the tech support at ford they said I should be on 23115 so I’ve had the truck at the dealer for the last 3 weeks with no end in sight as they try to update modules. They said the gateway module kept crashing last i talked to them and they put in a request for a warranty replacement of the gateway module. Just trying to figure out what the right thing to do is.

You probably should have led with that. lol

Give me a bit to look into it.

Edit: Wait, that pic is old I assume before you took it back to them? I see where they are struggling to get the GWM. It is failing the file validation process after they try to update it. Until they can get the GWM to update, the server will not release the next APIM update needed to start that part of the process rolling. They updated other modules, but these are the ones you need to get a higher Sync version. I'll see what I can find out.

After speaking to the resident guru, it won't hurt to let them replace the GWM, but we don't think it is necessary. The GWM is failing repeatedly with the USB process. When they try to update it with FDRS and FDRS asks them if the module updated successfully, they have the option of selecting no. if they do this, FDRS will ask them if they want to try to update it with the CAN process instead of the USB method. I doubt they will listen to you if you tell them, though.

I recieved no updates since Sept and now I have 11 updates in the past 30 days. Could someone run my VIN. I am curious how far behind the truck is.

I’ll talk to them this week and see what they say and try to update you. Thanks for your help. This whole process has been a nightmare.

The update failed because it was wanting to install software you already installed with FDRS. You have another OTA for the door modules in queue now which will also fail because you are not showing any pending updates for those modules, either.

Is this going to be an issue or will the procedure correct itself? I followed all directions & procedures when updating my truck with FDRS.
