Hi all,

I have been lurking on these forums for a couple months after purchasing my new truck and found a lot of the information helpful. It started with full screen CarPlay and has now evolved into the dreaded map update for BC:

Anyways, figured I'd see if someone could check on my truck - I assume I'm completely up to date given the mfg date of my truck and that will mean the "hurry up and wait" option. I saw that Jessie was getting understandably a little burned out so didn't want to hit him with a request as a day 1 post 1 user.

VIN: 1FTFW1E85NFB93456

Appreciate the community y'all have built around here. As mentioned learned a lot about my truck that the dealership neglected to tell me which has been fantastic.

Thanks in advance,

FishinSlicks
As a 2022, your truck was built with all the goodies in it already. PTS is down, so I cannot check OTA statuses for the time being, but you're good to go as far as that goes.

If your concern is the BC expiration, there is one person and one person only that can help you with that as far as I know, and you know who that is.

Appreciate the response rugedraw.

Whenever PTS is back up (and if you've got the time) wouldn't mind seeing if I've had any failed update pushes. As a somewhat tech-savvy person myself it drives me crazy not knowing.

I won't go into my thoughts on why that isn't something that the user can easily access (as I'm sure that opinion is shared widely and the horse is beaten pulpy).

First of all - Thank you!

As mentioned in other posts I am a complete neophyte on all of this.

From what I've been able to gather reading the forums over the last couple of months:

  1. The APIM is the update that would enable full screen CarPlay
  2. The GWM is the update that is bottlenecking my map updating past 12/10/2022

Is that correct? Anything else you can glean from that screen?

I am slowly being indoctrinated to only caring about those two items when maybe I should be most keenly aware of/concerned with the first one

I've been on 3.5.2 since October 5th. Just was curious when I'd be getting the 3.5.3 and hopefully full screen Android auto so I guess OTA . I have a 21 so not sure if they are on hold or not when it comes to updates.

PTS is "Professional Technician System" and it is a website only accessible by certain Ford employees. You can see OTA history on vehicle going back a max of 60 days. You can see many other useful things on there. The reason I think customers do not get access to the OTA portal is because they would be fielding hundreds or even thousands of calls every time an update fails. I'm guessing when it comes to customers, they believe ignorance is bliss.

APIM is "accessory protocol interface module" and GWM is "gateway module". I am not technically savvy enough to tell you which module update gives you full screen carplay or any other module. According to the Ford Power Up wiki, update 3.5.3 is a GWM update and I know that is the update that gives you full screen capability. I have been updating the wiki myself anytime I discover a discrepancy on there, so it is a good guide, but you can't rely on the info there to be 100% accurate. The Bluecruise maps updates I have seen people get via OTA comes as a stand-alone update and is not part of a power up update with a revision number.

Edit: The list that @HammaMan posted is the list of individual module updates your truck has. The only way to get those updates installed would be if you invest in an OBDII tool and a FDRS license from Ford and do it yourself.

It was your PTS request that had the data already ready when I looked at available updates. Said you did it 1623est I believe (or 1625).

So I found this Forum and it has helped me more than the dealer has, Iv'e had several ongoing issues that may have been explained with a new battery. I'm looking for recalls that disappeared? and updates, Head lights turn on by them selfs, wastegate check engine light. so if you could check I would be very grateful. vin 1FTEW1EP0NFB53658
Thanks in advance

Very strange. The "connected vehicle" tab in my PTS has been grayed out since yesterday. I still can't see any truck's OTA dashboard.

All very helpful and understand your point on why Ford does it.

Any way you or someone can tell me if updates have been pushed and failed? I have an unfounded anxiety that the wifi signal to the garage isn't strong enough or some other detail will prevent me from successfully receiving updates when pushed. I have received one (shortly after purchase - it was a PowerUp but unfortunately I deleted the message in the FordPass app so unsure of what it was).

Would appreciate an update on my OTA status, looking forward to the full screen android auto. Thanks!

1FTEW1EP7MFA95479
No OTA history in the past 60 days other than a bluecruise map update you got on 12/7. No OTA pending in your queue at this time. A few people recently reported getting 3.5.3, so hopefully Ford is rolling it out again. That is the update needed for full screen capability.

Can someone check 1FTFW1CD5MFB75327? Tried the APIM update again in FDRS and still getting the code_0 error after it starts the update process off the USB in the truck.
My PTS access will not be able to help you out in your case. You should post this in the FDRS thread that is stickied in this section.

No OTA history in the past 60 days and no OTA pending in queue. You are on a recent version of Sync, so no red flags that your truck is stuck not getting updates.

Good morning yall,

Any OTA updates available for me?

I received 2.7.4 on 11/17 and nothing since

1ftfw1e83mke09715

thanks in advance
I see the updates you received back then, and nothing else has been sent to you. No updates pending in your queue at this time, but the fact that you are getting updates is good.
