Well, that's frustrating.
Before I reach back out to them, is there any chance this takes a day or 2 to update what you see?
Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I assume this is up to date.
Thanks.

The DSP update was not done. They tried, but it failed 6 times due to a miscommunication error with the VCM tool and the module. List of pending updates for your truck is below including the DSP:

Before you call your service advisor guns blazing, please note that it could the tech who lied to him/her and said the update was done and your advisor does not know any better. The ACM and DSP update are related to the sound system, so those may help with your issue.

With the exception on the IPMA that will take 4 hours, the other updates are quick. Not sure if the CCM is quick or not.....I don't remember when I did mine how long it took.

However, they are not going to perform all the updates because Ford doesn't pay them to do so unless there is s problem associated with your truck that a module update fixes.

Understood. Didn't expect them to update them all, but at least the ones they said were updated.
I guess I mainly wanted to confirm that what you see is current, and doesn't have a time delay to show what's been updated. Hate to call them out and find out that it was actually done. Ha ha
Sounds like it is, so I guess I'll send them a message and see what they say.
Thanks.

No, what I can see is in real time. In this case, I feel comfortable saying that the list of updates I provided are 100% accurate because FDRS history clearly shows the DSP update failed every time they tried it and it does not show any attempts to update anything else.

I don't have FDRS at this time to check for modules pending updates, but based on your OTA history, I do not think you need to renew your license. You have gotten plenty of updates recently and anything you are missing is your preparatory updates for the future. You're good.

The last update you got was the one that brings you up to the latest SYnc 23159. It updates the digital owner's manual. Ypu're still missing some preparatory updates, but nothing that gives you anything new. The DSP update you want is in your list of available updates below:

1695783791035.png

However, at least one member here who got this update reported the same thing happening again after the update.
I was curious, will any of the above come across as OTA's? Or are these all needing a dealer visit or Mongoose FDRS update?

I have the extended service plan and am due for an oil change pretty soon, I'm curious if the dealer checks these kinds of things and if they'd update it or not without me asking.

EDIT: I saw a few posts up, oyy basically answered this very question, sounds like the dealer won't do it unless it's needed to fix something broken.

Yea, they won't do it. The WACM for sure won't come via OTA. Not sure about the HCM. The rest of the modules can be updated via OTA.

Good morning! I have been having issues with my dealer saying my SYNC system is up to date and that no updates are available for my truck, but I don’t feel that’s the case considering I don’t have full screen CarPlay. Could someone check my vin and maybe help me understand what issues there are with it so I know what dialogue to say to the dealer when I call them (truck is in for oil change right now). Vin is 1FTFW1EDXMFB07828. TIA for any help!

I don't have FDRS on my work computer to check for modules pending updates. However, your truck is on Sync 21233 and you not having full-screen capability means your truck is not up to date for sure. There are no OTA's in your recent history and no OTA's in your queue at this time. From what I can see, that last time your truck was updated was in May of this year where a dealer performed many module updates, but you have not gotten any OTA's since then. Ford does not pay dealers to perform modules updates, so there is no verbiage in your case that I can give you to get them to do it. Ford's OTA process is garbage and other than investing in the tools needed to update the truck yourself, there is nothing you can do but wait for the updates to randomly get sent you and hope they install successfully when they do get sent. In your case, I would recommend updating the truck yourself.

I am assuming you don't have your Fordpass set up as they are certain things I cannot see in your truck. None of the things I can't see will allow me to provide any more help. The reason I mention it is because if your Fordpass is set up and I can't see the things Fordpass allows me to see, then there may be a problem with your TCU which would prevent you from getting updates.

Your truck is a different animal altogether. Your truck is on Sync 20301 which is very old software from 2020 which is known to break the OTA process on early first production run 2021 trucks. Without dealer intervention, your truck will never get another update.

Set an appt with your dealer and tell them your truck has not received an update in 2.5 years. They need to manually update your APIM or replace it which is what they will most likely do. You can refer to Ford TSB 22-2404 when you talk to your service advisor. Once they get your truck out of its current state, you will start getting updates, but it will be a loooooong time before you are caught up. Due to the current strike, it may also be a looooooong time before they can order you a new APIM if they cannot fix the current one by following the process outlined by Ford in the TSB I referenced.

Once your truck is out of it's current state, I would also recommend updating it yourself.

Your truck's 60 DTC history is very clean.

The TSB is still active, so this will be covered without you having to come out of pocket.
