if I could bug you once more, can I ask about any active DTCs? I had an SSM done a week ago for my truck for B162F code and they said they finished it after maybe 5-10 minutes. I still see the same DTC on my forscan as “not present at time of request” Today. I’ve driven it quite a few times in the last week so I’d figure it would have cleared in its own by now. If I clear it myself it just comes back.

also, so sorry about your fire. Good on the fire dept for actually naming a cause, in my area they like saying “undetermined” and letting the insurance companies handle the investigation due to potential litigation.

also also, if you don’t have a tip jar on PayPal maybe you should make one. I wouldnt mind sending you a few bucks for all the help.

thanks again
60 DTC history is attached. I highly recommend you do not read too much into this. Every truck including my own I have checked records DTC's. If your truck is no giving you any symptoms or issues, do not lose sleep over whatever you see on that list.

I appreciate the gesture, but like I have said in the past when asked: I do not do what I do for money. All I do is type a VIN into a website or software program and give an opinion on what I see based on my limited knowledge of the subject. There are people here who have the ability to actually solve people's problems that are more deserving of monetary compensation for their work and efforts here.

Thanks so much, so I have to wait fir the updates, unless I do it myself?
Correct. In your case, I would wait. There is no need to rush out and get any of those updates; especially if it is going to cost you money to do so. There is nothing wrong with your truck and none of those updates will give you anything new and cool.

Today after I spoke to the tech that was working on it, they returned my truck back. They said that other then the BlueCruise feature everything else should be fine. May be they put the parts back together. They are still waiting for Ford to tell them how to proceed with update.
Well, start downloading FORscan and getting the license. As soon as the adapter arrives, you got the right guy in your corner.

Do you know if this DSP update is the version is the supposed to fix the B&O sound system issue? I experienced the extremely loud cracking for the first time over the weekend.

Yes, and "supposed to" is right. There is at least pone member here who has reported the event happening again after the DSP update was applied.

Ok thank you very much. If I still keep getting that Vdm open circuit DTC should I take it back to the dealer? There was an SSM they completed to remedy that DTC so I’d figure that would go away afterwards.

The DTC your truck is recording is the one that SSM 51160 is supposed to fix. FDRS vehicle history shows they performed the correct procedure as per the SSM's instruction to correct it. You can take it back if you want, but I wouldn't. Again: If your truck is running fine and you have no lights on your dash, then enjoy your truck and don't worry about it.

If the update to the VDM module was successful, I would try "resetting" it to see if the DTC will clear and not return?

I think the module is underneath the cab on the driver's side right between the front and rear door?

You could probably just unhook the 12V negative terminal for a few minutes, or use Forscan to reset the VDM? Then clear the DTC if it's still there?

I haven't seen/read the SSM.

Edit: I don't see where that addresses the VDM module. I must be confused. (happens daily)

No sir no issues other than second guessing myself if i do or do not feel a difference in damper mode settings which is apparently a symptom of that B162F code. As always, thank you! I’m assuming none of those lingering DTCs would prohibit a sync update?

I could reset VDM via forscan, think it’s worth a shot?

I can't find that DTC (B162F:13) in an 18,000 page manual. You have me really curious.

I have monkeyed with my VDM AsBuilt a bit and never even gotten a code related. (messing with CCD damping)

The good news is that DTC isn't a live condition. It was momentary and historical, if I understand it correctly.

Thanks!

I reset the VDM and did a reset all DTCs. Everything’s beautiful green checkmarks now but time will tell. Either way it is what it is truck is just fine. Wouldn’t even know about these DTCs if I wasn’t digging
