Remote start with HVAC and heated seats

Maybe the remote start is designed for the north where it's helpful to warm the engine up before taking off. We don't have that need down in south east Texas.

The biggest use I would have in Texas would be to remotely start the truck on a hot day and let the A/C start cooling the cab. Or on a cold day, remote start the truck and have the seat and wheel heaters turn on.

But when I remotely start my truck, nothing is on until I get in and push the start button. Any ideas if this can this be added/enabled in Forscan?

There are settings for this. Check on the touchscreen under Settings > Vehicle > Remote Start

You are correct. I'm sure I saw those before and forgot about it. They are set to auto for climate control and seats/wheel temp. I'm going to have to try this again, because I'm almost positive that they do not turn on until I push the start button. I noticed it recently when it was really hot.

I think you can set them to "last settings" instead of auto.

I set all flags appropriately for my 302. When it's cold, the heated seats / wheel, and HVAC heater turn on. When it's warm out, the AC turns on max and the cooled seats operate. I set it to both seats and if a passenger is present on key on their cooled seat turns on as well.

You have cooled seats on a 302? I thought those are Lariat and up.

It was a $1k post-purchase option -- The 4A xfer case was another $1200 option

The heated raptor wheel w/ shift paddles and all associated hardware including the climate knob temp screens w/ H/C seat control was $900

yup mine does it HAL decides if its hot or cold out and turns on the climate based on his info.

today it had seat at 3 bars for cold and ac set at 65F
once i pressed start the dash let me know the settings, but prior to that the air was blowing out of the vents pretty steady

I feel like the auto doesn't blow enough cold air (never tried it when it was cold outside, always when it's hot). What is it's temperature target when set to auto?

I'll have to wait until next winter to try the heater, but the latest example was coming out of a store. It was hot outside. I remote started the truck with key fob and my wife got in. I was talking to someone and got in a few minutes later. The cab felt hot inside. As soon as I pushed the start button, the blower started blowing a lot of cold air and quickly cooled things off. My wife and I both talked about how the AC wasn't on until I pushed the start button on the dash.

I think I noticed no lights on the hvac controller, and they came on when I pushed the start. Maybe it is working after all.

If you all are telling me the hvac and seats are supposed to come on, then I'll pay more attention the next couple of times and will let you know for sure what it's doing.

I walked another member through a similar situation previously. A very simple test is to remote start your truck and sit in it without pushing the start button. You’ll be able to tell if the HVAC and seats are working or not within a minute or two.

I don’t think the cold air blows super cold until you actually start the truck, it just blows kinda cold… or Luke-cold ?‍

Mine definitely turns on the heat or a/c. This morning it was 39° when I remote started the truck, got in and wheel was heated, seats were warm and cab was warming.

Left work at lunch, 75° to pick my son up from school and truck was cooling off and seats were cooling when I got in (not super cold, definitely cooling just like @dolsen mentions). Lights on the hvac are off until I turn the truck on.

I'm working from home tomorrow, but I'll back it out of the garage and let it heat up a bit. Then will try to remote start and see what happens.
