I worked "oil patch" in Houston meaning offshore energy exploration. The great majority of truck owners owned extended cab models for the sake of hauling coworkers to and from locations like vendors, customers locations, lunch, etc. Most of the trucks were the more luxurious models for reasons of bragging rights than necessity.

Reg cabs lose a higher % of their value, which ltimately may be a lower doaller amount. Buy what you want, as the sweet taste of the a deal wears thin if it's not the right deal; for you.
Indont think you have priced out a used regular cab short box.

The extended cab is sportyer(?) than a crew cab, but not much. The resale on those is crap though, better off buying used for an extended cab.

A really big distinction has to be made between long bed and short bed regular cabs especially with the V-8. For these trucks color matters too.. anything BUT white. Since very few were XLT'S or even have carpet options (or lack of) makes a bigger difference than in any extended cab. Few want a white stripper two or four wheel drive. That's why 2024 is different. It's got ALL the important options standard including the 5.0..I personaly feel it will hold it's 'value' very very well. Especially a 2 wheel drive since 4×4 adds over 5 grand to MSRP.

My order is IN!!!! Now the wait begins.. I'm really hoping I'll be in Iowa in July..
2024 Regular cab XL short bed 2×2 in Iconic Silver Metallic.. The only options I picked was black Platform Running Boards and Privacy Glass. I think it's a going to be a fantastic looking truck and the best bargain of any brand truck..

From the very beginning I wanted to keep the cost down so I didn't have a large payment.. For those of you who are on the fence on the configuration and trim level of your new truck consider that the Regular cab XL 2×2 short bed at Granger is right at $36,000.00 plus tax tag and title... That's much less than any other truck regardless of brand. For that you get the 5.0 3.73 locker power windows locks tilt Cruise 12" dash and screen rear camera etc etc.
After looking at all the choices for any new vehicle period I personally feel it's the best bargain buying new if a regular cab will work for you.

After my brother David looked at it he told me I could probably sell it when I got back to Florida for more than I paid for it OTD.. But with some basic mods to loose the last bit of 'work truck' look absolutely. I'm planning on a one piece tonneau cover painted to match with a little SRT-10 type wing on it wheels and tires Ford performance 2"-4" drop and do something with the XL grill. Where I'm going to splurge is on a custom leather interior..

Since I’m still waiting for confirmation that my build has started, I went by my local dealer to see if they had anything in stock. They did have a white one so I asked the salesman to let me know if they get a grey one in. He got back with me yesterday and they got one in. My color and 103a. So I asked price, he says 44,500. I said oh no I didn’t want the 4x4. He’s says it’s not. They have a $5,000 mark up ?. No thank you I’ll wait on my build ?

I came from a crew cab, this is my first RCSB. So far I love it. Just ordered a center console to get rid of the jump seat. The jump seat makes it feel "work truck". Not to many colors to pick from this year in single cab, wanted something other than work truck white.

In Texas the dealers cant keep these things in stock. Went with 4x4 for resale down the road. Went with the 101A package, I think that is what it was, just to get the fog lights. Everyone wants the back plastic bumpers to colormatch but the chrome looks good to me. Seemed like a good value for the price tag to upgrade. The colormatch will eventually get all rock chipped up where I live.

Actually it's the 103-A package that gets you the chrome. And now a hard vinal work surface (I think it's padded on higher trims) I too wanted LED fog lights but will have to add my own. I know that will complicate things when I get around to desions on grill treatment plus I'm not sure how easy it is to add or even if you have to get a new harness and/or switch.

OP congrats and great spec, can’t wait to see pics. I’m deciding if I want another as I just sold my GT350 so I’ve got a space in the garage lol.

Congrats on your new truck order. You will like working with Granger. They really take care of you and none of the hassles of other dealers.

The single cab V8 just cries out for the Ford supercharger to make more than 700hp. Especially if you have Granger install it from day 1. Ok maybe that is me dreaming....

Granger is selling so many trucks that they are having a little trouble installing common dealer installed accessories. Installing a supercharger is a big deal and relatively few dealerships have certified tech's or are set up to do it. I'm new to Gen-14 F-150's but think the regular cab short bed at 36K plus TTT is a real bargain..
