Howdy yall, I’m thinking about saving up of for a whipple for my new truck but I’m worried about reliability.
Say I got the Ford performance whipple, would it be realistic to get 150k out of the truck?
That’s with meticulous maintenance, and a lot of highway miles.
Also would it void any extended warranty?
I plan on taking this truck into some of the most remote areas of the intermountain west so reliability is a priority but 700 hp is quite tempting.

Make sure you carry a LOT of sunscreen and water. You're going to be hiking out bro.

Supposedly the FP/Whipple underwent Fords 100K durability testing.
Ford Performance kits are validated with 100,000+ mile durability cycles, including:
• Towing at max capacity
• High-load desert/high-altitude testing
• Sustained WOT (wide open throttle) pulls

I’ve read where owners have 70/80K miles on there Whipple kits with 0 problems. I think owners get into trouble when they beat on it, use bad fuel and/or additives, poor maintenance, poor custom tuning, etc.
Also would it void any extended warranty?
If a dealer or an ASE technician installs it for you the remainder of your 3/36 warranty is covered by FP/Whipple not mother Ford. Read the warranty carefully though, it has monetary limits and restrictions too.

You might want to check if your transmission will be up to the task.

All dependent on how you drive it and use it. If driven responsibly no reason it won't last well past 100k. I would be more concerned with your cats lasting this long and like others have said the trans will likely go out first.

Generally, this only happens on high hp cars but Coyotes are known for snapping crank snouts off. Power wise your fine but will be interesting if the snout can take the added stress for 150k miles.

I've been flip flop on a supercharger for the same reason. I drive a lot and don't plan on throwing thousands more at a motor down the road.

An awful lot of these Supercharged 5.0s seem to expire prematurely.

Any stock modern engine is good for 100s of thousands of miles. 100K miles is nothing imo.

My opinion is that if you need the power, buy the eco-boost/ power-boost and preferably a year that can be tuned.

From what I’ve seen and what yall are saying, it would be smart to not worry about it. I’d like to keep this truck for around 150k.
If I really want to haul A$$ then the smart thing to do would be to direct that money towards a mustang instead, looks like FP sells a whipple kit for the mustangs that puts out 800 hp, and has the same warranty that the f150 kit has.
My truck is already pretty damn quick, even with the 34s. I should just be happy with what I have to be honest. I might just get it tuned once they figure out these newer trucks.
It would be nice if they had either the 7.3 or the 5.2 motors as options for all f150s or ideally a Ranger Raptor with the 7.3, that would be the perfect truck for my wants. And the power boost is literally the last powertrain that I want, I’m soo sick of anything V6.

I predict it'll last somewhere between 1 and 150K miles. Maybe more, or possibly less.

Oh, this is really gonna depend upon how hard you drive it and how well you maintain it.

But hearing what you’re saying, I would say 150 K if you’re lucky

I've put exhaust, a tune and a throttle controller. Makes it a real fun drive with more than enough power needed. Feel much better for longevity.

Every Super Charger I have ever owned outlasted several sets of tires

Thats what I think I’ll do, I’ll probably do a more modest exhaust and once they crack the encryption on these 24+ trucks then I’ll get a tune for 91 octane. Probably won’t worry about a throttle controller since I’m fairly satisfied with how the drive modes effect that.
