My truck clicks constantly. I do not have a proximity key fob and it does it when I don’t have the keys with me anyway.
Hi there. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into this for you.

Not to rant (off topic at that), but does anyone else feel like this "Community account" for FMC is more frustrating than if they didn't even post here? More often than not all I hears is that people IM them, they "open a case" and that ends up just being "this is on your dealer". That's the account even picks up your issue (I swear some they avoid because they know it's an issue they just want to ignore)

I really get why they feel it's good PR, but to me overall it paints FMC in a poor light when it comes to customer service.

Hello,
I think it's cool that you posted this and offered to help, but I think you are a bot and therefore unable to actually do anything. If this isn't the case, please correct me and I'll send you a message.

It IS going to clunk and click. The truck is FULL of relays. Take the + battery clamp off for 1/2 an hour and then reconnect. Then you will really hear the clicking.

I generally agree with you here. That being said, when I was first having the issue with my transmission pump they reached out and I was assigned a rep who seemed to be helpful - she was more responsive than my dealer was with updates, etc. Not sure if it made a difference than if I hadn't reached out but I was satisfied.

Based on the posts I've seen though I feel like my experience was the exception rather than the rule though.

Just block the account. You won't see posts from them anymore if you select that option. You can also prevent that account from seeing your posts as well.

Ignore options
  • Remove ignored contentIf checked, the content from users that you ignore will be completely removed.

If un-checked, the content from users that you ignore will be hidden with a message indicating the user is ignored and an option to show the content.
2-way ignore options
  • Enable 2-way ignoreIf checked, the users that you ignore won't be able to see your content at all.

Hi I believe I am Having the same clicking locks issue with my 2022 F-150 Tremor. This is a recurring intermittent issue. Just walking up to the vehicle the locks will keep clicking, sometimes no clicking but I cannot unlock or lock the vehicle with the key Fob. Talking to other Tremor owners on FB we are narrowing down that this is being caused by the Ford Pass App causing interference or locking out the Key Fob while both are in proximity to each other. Dealer cannot replicate issue thinking possibly because my phone is not near the vehicle. Can anyone confirm they are having the same problem without having Ford Pass installed. I am including Youtube Links of the problem.

Good morning! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your locking concern on my end.

weird seeing this thread. so i've had something weird like this happen twice. but heres the kicker, both times my phone and the key were inside the house (not close to the truck) it was like the doors were rapidly locking and unlocking but not completely. the first time i was outside near the truck and heard it, saw the door locks vibrating, punched in my key code on the pad and it unlocked the truck. shut the door, pushed the key pad to lock and never heard it.

about a week ago the mrs came inside to tell me the truck was locking and unlocking the door, i went outside and it wasnt doing anything. so both times the phone and key werent in close proximity.

My guess is that because your phone/keyfob is at the maximum range for the Bluetooth to be picked up in the truck so it thinks you are getting close and unlocks it, but then the signal fades, and so it locks it back up thinking you have walked away. Basically, the Bluetooth is fading in and out like when you get static on a radio station, and it's confusing the truck as to whether you are walking up to the truck to unlock. I am just going off my understanding of how Bluetooth functions from my experience as a patent attorney and not anything specific with the F-150.

Don't know if there is a way to change the distance that the truck unlocks via Bluetooth, but I would try setting it to shorter distance if you can and see if that fixes it or just disable it all together.

The problem with this theory is that the truck doesn't unlock on approach. There are some relays that go off (not sure what they do), but the truck stays locked. Also, BT should have nothing to do with it. The truck (As far as I know) does not turn on it's BT until you start it (or put it in acc mode).

Maybe I'm wrong about the BT, but the trucks definitely don't automatically unlock on approach. you do get the welcome lights and maybe that is what people are hearing? You'd also see the lights on though.

My truck is A ‘21 STX (XL) with a basic fob and no push button start. I do have FordPass. I now have 13k miles on the truck and it has had random clicks while I walk around it since day one. Everything functions as expected.

I just went through 4 pages in this thread of people mentioning the clicks and using the terms “problems and issues” and are associating them with the clicks. What is not functional when you hear the clicks? What is failing when you hear the clicks? Or is it just the click sound that you think is a malfunction?

The first couple times I heard it, I thought maybe a coin in my pocket had hit the lock / unlock button (God knows I’ve hit that dang alarm button on the fob a few times!) but I have since ruled that out. But nothing fails to work, the truck stays locked (or unlocked if I had it unlocked), and it still drives sans issues. It just clicks as I approach certain parts of it from time to time.

So, is there a problem you are having… along with the click… or is the click the problem?

My take on this;
As when updating the truck with FDRS, some updates require you to wait and allow the truck to totally shut down. I suspect, that when I come close to the truck after it has been sitting for a while and has totally shut down, it turns on certain systems in the truck. IE: Door locks, remote start system etc.. Because there is so much teck in these trucks, unless your having a problem, then there is no problem. The truck is operating as designed.
