I have had my comma 3x in since May and absolutely refuse to live without it now. It is incredible having it work down gravel roads and no issues, and I like the 1 time fee instead for hardware

Also, what values do I need to change in FORSCAN for the BC1.4? just curious as I would like to just have the updates.. I have the modules updated just never found the right post as to what values to change on my 21, 502a lariat
The changes required for this are not out to the general public yet. If you fully updated your truck in May when you got the Comma system, you should have the right software to be able to do it. Message me the VIN and I can check for you.

Thanks @rugedraw, I already checked a couple weeks ago and you had told me that my trucks modules were successfully updated, and just needed Forscan then, and I updated the truck early august after I had the Comma system in it.

I did the same thing. Was on the verge of asking for help on that screen and figured it out myself. When you are new you really want to be spoon fed, I get it.

Oh man, my modules are updated as of late September. I just need to figure out where to make the necessary changes in Forscan to get the 1.4... If anyone wants to send me a message about it, it would be much appreciated.

So I've had my 2024 Lariat for just under a month now. I believe it came with BC 1.2. I know it's not the 1.1 that I had on the 2021 Platinum. Whatever I have now, it has the turn signal / change lane feature and it seems to use a much less "floaty" lane centering algorithm. With that for background, I have three questions:

What does 1.4 offer that 1.2 does not?
How can I determine which version of BC I actually have? Using FDRS or FORScan or ??
What general steps would I take to upgrade BC to 1.4?

On that last question, it seems from this thread I would need to check/update all my modules with FDRS and then do something specific with FORScan, a process that has not been publicly released. Is this where I would enlist the help of someone like rugedraw?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Guys sorry I haven't had a chance to take the big girl out on the highway yet to give 1.4 a spin and grab some footage.

What does 1.4 offer that 1.2 does not?
Here is what I could find on the topic:

This is a lovely question. I have no idea. I just updated to what I think is 1.4 but I have no visual cue to tell me that for sure. We will need the seniors to kick in on this one.

What general steps would I take to upgrade BC to 1.4?
FDRS and update each and every module - I think you only need 2 or 3 of them for bluecruise but I don't see any harm in getting everything updated. Once the modules are updated, you have to flip a few registers using Forscan. You are right, it is under wraps but rugedraw will gladly help you out with that. He is incredible. We don't deserve him.

What version of BC you have is dependent and what IPMA software you have. In order to have lane change etc on a 21-23, you need to update the IPMA with FDRS to the latest version which is ACJ. We call it BC 1.4 because the ACJ software is the same software that was rolled out to Mach E's in early access last December and it was called BC 1.4 in the OTA that was sent out before Ford pulled it.

Now on the Mach E, there is a new IPMA software (BAE version) that Ford is calling BC 1.3 and that software is replacing the ACJ software that is available to us.

Because you truck already shipped with 1.2 and you have lane change etc enabled, you would not need to do anything with FORScan. If you truck has newer IPMA software available to install with FDRS, then all you would need to get the newer version of BC is install the newer software.

I had a 1 mile stretch with Blue cruise today. Initial impressions are: Amazing stability!! There is an incredible difference between 1.4 and 1.0. I experienced the in-lane repositioning and it was exactly what I would have done. It felt like I was driving, but only I wasn't.

I have a much larger 16 mile stretching coming up tonight. I'll try and grab some footage then.

Rugedraw this is the best explanation I've seen here--many thanks!

It's been a BUSY weekend with my mom and dad visiting me here in Vegas. I did get to do my 16 mile stretch with Bluecruise 1.4 and it was glorious. It did the whole 16 miles without kicking out.

It slowed down a little and showed an arrow near the speed limit at the bottom right side of the speedometer while sweeping a curve.

I got some footage but when i rewatched it, it was filled with my wife and mom ruining the whole thing + like a dummy, I didn't record much of the road when BC was lane changing, etc.

I'm going out to red rock sometime later this week and I'll try and do this gem of a software some justice.

Anyone on the fence: DO NOT WAIT!! This will f****** change everything if you have solid blue zones around you. I feel a renewed connection with my truck - I was so close to selling it. Even my transmission kicking me in the nuts from gear 2-3 and 3-4 have gone after the PCM update. Just update everything, life is good!

Simple answer

Borrow a Mongoose and do all the updates available for your truck.
Then a couple of Forscan tweaks. And you have it all

Indeed.
Answer has remain unchanged through every bluecruise post.
