Saw a brand new truck today that still had dealer plates and had the day time running lights flickering going down the road. I am starting to think Ford is just pushing trucks out the door unfinished in order to make a profit. My truck has a list of problems adding up with only 7000 miles and I'm sure most trucks being released into the wild are full of issues that were known about and ignored to keep production ongoing.

Current issues on my Platinum Powerstroke include:

Auto leveling headlights need to be power cycled occasionally because they are pointing all the way down when using remote start.

Dash lit up with every possible brake system error including ABS system failure, rear brake assist not available and collision system not available. There where a few more I don't remember as I was trying to get my phone out to record the screen and then it all just went away.

Rear brake assist not available a lot of times when I back up.

Loud popping sound through the speakers when I open the door and the screen lights up.

Hill start assist not available error on dash when I start the truck.

Rear slider rattles and weather stripping does not even touch the window.

Engine has made a loud howling sound several times when remote started and goes away when engine restarted.

The usual poor shifting of the 10 speed transmission from 1-3 and a clunk when dropping to 8th from 10th.

Dash resets to default settings a couple times a month.

Just wondering have you checked to see that all of the fuses are installed properly? That might at least cure a problem or two.

I did. I just need to get it into service after the holidays.

So, all those issues and have not been taken to the dealer for service?

They have all been starting over the last 30 days or so and it is a giant pain in the ass dealing with dealers in Houston and getting a service loaner these days. Most just want you to leave the truck for weeks and figure out how to get to work with no loaner.

You are 100% correct. I can attest to several issues that I outlined in this forum, which are 100% direct result of bad or non-existing quality control.

OP - Seems like you may have a few TSBs that need to be applied. This is one reason why the ESP (Ford Protect) with first day rental is gold.

Which deal are you going through? Loaners are an issue everywhere since they are mostly provided through enterprise if the dealer does not, you should be able to schedule a date when they can have a loaner. I myself went through MacHaik Ford and they have been great every step.

I am considering ordering a 2022 xlt 302a supercab. reading about all these problems makes me nervous. I understand all the happy customers do not tell us about it on the forum.
That being said, if I order and receive a $50,000 truck and have a bunch of problems I WONT BE A HAPPY CAMPER. I have a truck that is very reliable.
So my question is. Will the 2022 models be any better since they are not the first model year?

I bought a 301a 4x4 SuperCab, 8’ last Feb.
not as heavily equipped as a 302, but I did not want the big screen and all
the added tech.

Nothing about this truck has given me pause.
Goes like a bandit (5.0), shifts just fine, quiet, fuel efficient, rides nice (but I don’t think quite as nice as my 98 K1500). Handles just fine for a truck ( much better than the 98 K1500)

11,000 miles this week, and here are my issues.
Left rear Tire Pressure Monitor fails when outside temps are over 95*
Center stack 8” display goes black when on accy just listening to radio.
(radio Keeps playing, screen black)
Ford is looking into this as I’m not sure I am the only one.
This started after an OTA this month.

I guess that I have just been lucky 20,000km, and no real issues. My only issues were disabling so much of the features that I don't need or want, like the rear braking assist, or the express seat, and the notice that comes in when driving in a strong crosswind.

What sort of notice do you get when driving in a strong crosswind?

If I drove in a strong crosswind, and had to make a lot of steering corrections as I passed obstacles that blocked the wind, the truck would assume that there was an issue with me falling asleep or being tired, and a "driver alert" would appear. Luckily, I was able to go into the menu and deactivate the driver alert monitor.
