2024 Pro Access Tailgate - Ford Quality

Picked up my 2024 Lariat a few weeks ago and had a few quality paint issues that the dealer attempted to correct. However it wasn’t until this weekend that I noticed that Ford installed the wrong bumper for the pro access tailgate.

The trailer wiring should be on the right side because the tail gate offers ability to get in but mine is on the left. Going to see how they’re going to fix thist this week. Whether or not it’s just the black bumper step or the entire bumper that needs to be replaced…

I never cared for those tail gates. That bumper looks to be a tremor bumper. It also looks odd pipes look to small for the cutouts.

The step part in the middle is a good bit wider to give you more room to get in and out of as well as the light pigtail sockets all being on the right side.

It happens to all manufactures hopefully the Dealer will have a quick answer to get this sorted out yet it doesn't look out of place to me I may not be familiar. I have a 24 king Ranch and I absolutely very pleased with the Pro Access tail gate I've found I used the swing door much more then the tailgate down position so much easier to grab Items I've loaded in the back.

Your Lariat has the Black Appearance Package with dual exhaust which gets the 'old' style bumper. Only non-BAP trucks with a single exhaust get the new wider tailgate with the PAT. It appears your bumper configuration is correct.

I have same bumper and PAT on a ‘24 Lariat BAP. Love the PAT, but have remarked to myself the step on the bumper is really too shallow to be a confident step. Curious what your dealer does. Would be really annoyed to learn there’s a more specific PAT bumper and a $75k truck didn’t include it.

Someone needs to make a clamp on bigger diameter pipes for them. My 4th Gen Ram had bumper exits like those (Ford took idea from Ram) and someone made bigger tips to fill bumper.

Trailer plug location? I've seen some on the left, others on the right. Going to guess that in classic Ford fashion they'll decide having two options is one too many and they'll ditch one to save money on body panels and wiring harnesses.

I just read from others on Facebook that if you have the Black Appearance Package with dual-exhaust, you do not get the Pro Access Tailgate bumper, even though you have the tailgate. That is, unless you upgrade to the Tremor. I am still going to wait and see what Ford officially tells me.

The 2024/25 F150s with PAT get the BAP bumper when they are equiped with the BAP package. Your bumper is correct for your truck.

At dealer today for an OC. Normal non PAT trucks also get their electrics on the RHS of the tag.

What make you think there is an issue? You do notice no dual exhaust on the red Platinum. Your bumper is a depicted on the build & price tool.
