Bummer! Hope the double battery disconnect solves it. Still working a few days later. Pretty sure the dealer would do the same and give some general reason for why it was busted and what they did to fix.
Couldn’t really find much discussion on this topic. Pakmule has done an exceptional job of ad targeting me on instagram the last few months. We have a 3.5 and 2 year old, our ‘24 501A PB fills up quick for camping and road trips, especially if I want the tonneau closed. A solution like theirs...
lucky! Disconnecting batteries isn’t so bad if it saves the hassle and time at the dealership. The self healing and minor fixes we have to do as owners of new $$$$ trucks are frustrating - still love the truck though, so I move on. The comfort, power and utility are solid.
that’s what I hoped for when the issue first started. Alas it was still busted the next day. Thankfully today the truck is still working, the day after the battery disconnect reboot.
Thank you Javier!!
Update: the stereo works again! I unplugged both batteries for about an hour. Cancelling my appt with dealership tomorrow. Hopefully this is a long term fix and this thread can be used by others in the same boat.
My issue after the same OTA is my stereo and speakers are working. Here’s the thread. https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/broken-volume-and-audio-sources-selector.44408/
I had to replace my 14v battery after 4 months due to the same issue as you describe. Non issue since. Hope I’m not in...
Javier, I’ve just disconnected the 14v battery in the engine bay. When I open the truck door, the dash and infotainment units still light up. Do I also need to unhook the Aux battery? For context, I already upgraded the OEM 14v, still have OEM aux battery.
I’m so glad you mentioned this. I’ve been thinking something sounded different the last few days. And I got the same OTA ACM update, but now no speakers and audio system doesn’t work. Thread: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/broken-volume-and-audio-sources-selector.44408/
Javier has been...
Thank you all for the replies and info!!
Does disconnecting the battery for a few minutes accomplish the same as pulling and putting back fuses?? Interior fuse box is kinda a pain to access vs loosening a terminal bolt.
also going to call dealer tomorrow to get in the queue in case this turns...
Starting yesterday, I can no longer turn my speaker volume above ‘0’ and can no longer change the audio source. No radio, nothing. Just silence. I’ve tried rebooting the infotainment system several times and hoped it would sort itself overnight. Nothing.
Another ideas to try? Of course I have a...
The step makes PAT even more functional and safer. The bumper step is too shallow. If your heel slips under load, you're toast. Also makes bed access so much easier. Wife and little kiddos love it. Easily a top 3 upgrade.
You’re spot on. The service manager multiple times told me the only reason they’re even talking to me about this is because I bought the truck there. They don’t work on glass normally, so I’d basically be the guinea pig. I’d be more comfortable if they showed competency even getting their sh*t...
The next closest is about 45 miles away. This is a full day repair, apparently. When they said to go elsewhere, I said you really want me to evaluate another dealer? I bought local to so I had a local relationship exactly for situations like this. That changed their tune.
the letter says at the bottom of the first page that Ford can deny any claims of damage if you don’t get it done. Amazing how full of sh*t dealers are.
Curious to learn people’s experience with this recall or whatever it is. I have a ‘24 501a Powerboost.
I received the letter below from Ford in July to replace something in the moonroof. It says to call your dealer and escalate to service manager if issues arise. Well, this has simply been an...
‘24 Lariat PB. The wireless charger is crap. Can’t believe that’s a ~$400 option. Hard to get a connection and remain charging. It has to be seated just right and have to apply downward pressure. And it’s a slow charger so can barely keep up if Maps and Spotify are running - it still uses more...
I live in California and unfortunately catch cans are banned for emissions reasons. Anyone have experience bringing their truck to dealership or smog with catch can installed in CA? Seems discrete enough for a smog tech to not see, but a bit more obvious to a dealer mechanic. Don’t want hassle...
Installed Tackform cell phone holders for the wife and I. Very impressed with the attachment design and build quality. Wish it were made in the USA for the price point. Also added these air caps, cheap Amazon buy. They kind compliment the chrome lugs on the BAP.
