Program APIM keeps failing

I have a 2023 f150 xlt that came with the 8” sync. I bought the 12” screen and apim from a wrecked truck not sure what year. I did all the forscan programming and everything works except the navigation is off like it’s not exactly calibrated. I thought it’s probably because the apim I bought is to old and the OTA won’t work so I used a pass thru and FDRS which told me there is an update for the APIM and it took forever to download everything then it makes a usb drive which I’ve tried 4 different times. 6gb total size but when I plug it into the truck it says usb error please remake the usb drive. That being said could it be because that isn’t the factory apim for my truck so it’s failing?? Any ideas what I can try?

Can someone who has updated there sync 4 with 12inch screen and navigation upload what they saved to flash drive?

If you have FDRS, consider trying to PMI your APIM and then flip the required bits to make it work in your truck. I've upgraded several things in my truck and outside of having some strange software on a part that required the ford whisperer's wand, the PMI (can also 'program' it so long as the option is present, it's short form PMI) programs it to your vehicle specifically. I know there's some oddities with the 23 parts / trucks, but it may get you on the right track.

Are there any write ups on PIM(ing) the apim? I am stuck on the old update and won’t let me do anything.. help! Haha
