Anyone else having problems with keyless locking buttons on the door handles? Sometimes mine take a very long time to work. once, they didn’t work at all. I’ve tried different amounts of pressure, different fingers, and other variables. Thoughts? Experiences?

I don't use the keyless locking function very often but it always seems to take a couple seconds from my making contact with the sensor patch until it locks. Much longer to activate on the F150 than the Ranger. For the Ranger you just barely had to touch the door handle and it would lock near instantly.

But then it would also repeatedly trigger the lock/unlock cycle when I stood next to it spraying water on it with the keys in my pocket. I got in the habit of leaving the keys on the workbench when washing the truck.

I found with my truck, after closing the door, I have to wait 2 to 3 seconds before touching the lock button and it locks right away. Almost like the truck is "checking" all the windows and doors are closed.

Same for my fob. Gotta give it a second.

I use my buttons pretty regularly and they work pretty much instantly.

My drivers side has the same issue, so I just use the lock button on the door before I close it. That being said my buddy recently enlightened me that you can also hit the two lowest buttons on the door keypad to lock the doors. That comes in handy if you already have closed the drivers door.

Roger that. Thanks. It’s funny because the passenger side button works flawlessly. Think I’m going to turn it in as a warranty problem and see what they say.

Yeah on mine I shut the door and then give it 2 seconds then it works every time. It’s not fast which is annoying. Sometimes I just hit the keypad lock lol

Mine do not work when I have gloves on. I also have better luck with touching the most forward part of the button. With the proximity sensing of the fob I can also pull on the driver's side door handle and have the system unlock the door without touching the buttons.

I have to make sure to not wrap my fingers around the back of the door handle (unlock)...my Focus ST will let me lock the door this way but the F150 won't let it happen.
