Agreed. SSM 51379 release notice was from very early 2023. V5 did not release until May 2024.

If anything I suspect Ford's working to move the PPoB monitoring, scales, and zone lighting behind the connected services subscription paywall.

The only reason I don't agree with the paywall prediction is that ProPower and Zone Lighting and Scales are not functions that require a subscription to operate physically in the vehicle.
The subscriptions that can be managed within FordPass are all functions that are disabled in the vehicle unless a subscription is in place.

I dare Ford to tell a customer that ProPower requires a subscription. That would make the infamous BMW heated seats fiasco look tame by comparison.

53 years o have been a ford customer. This last truck and what ford has done has cost then a customer. Its not that I wont buy another one but I will take a long look at dodge and Chevy.

The other day my truck displayed that bluecruse is no longer working. When I called ford they said my subscription ran out. I said there was no literature on the window sticker or any Signed Eula agreement that said bluecruse was subscription. Alot more was argued. They offered additional year for free but I had to sign a EULA agreement to get the new year. I said no. Im not giving up what was supposed to be free at the time I bought the truck. They transferred me to some special department that deals with retards like me.
I said my purchase agreement states bluecruse was included. I think they didn't want the fight. Yesterday it started working again. I think ford is trying to go as far as they can with moving creature comfort items behind a subscription paywall.

I see wibdow stickers now say bluecruse is free for 3 years. Didn't say that when I bought it.

Yesterday, Ford filed for a new patent and it's for the service we previously had in FordPass called Securialert.

Ford removed the feature from FordPass in 2023. I think it's coming back but within the V5 framework. Similar to what I think is going on with ProPower.

Im not waiting on secure alert. Becides it looks like it will only be functional on new vehicles.
In the mean time I have been searching for the pids that display conditions like wattage being used. It will be easy to send these pids to a remote server and display on a phone.

Why would Securialert only work on new vehicles?

Our vehicles are already equipped with the necessary hardware. We even experienced what could now be considered V1, or at least beta.

I realize that the consumer might view it as Ford developed certain FordPass functions and then removed them. We even postulate what might be the explanation. (usually with a cynical slant)
But I tend to view it as Ford, at some point early on in their FNV framework, quickly discovered there was a limited future regarding their development plans using the development environment that FordPass was developed on.

Whatever FordPass V4 actually was, it was abandoned and a whole new framework/environment was switched to.

We, as consumers, want it now! Especially if we see it as something we already had. What could possibly take so long?

I don't have all the answers, of course, but I try to be less cynical and more logical, with a healthy dose of optimism thrown in.

Nothing new in v5.25.0 that I downloaded today. I haven’t seen much change in the app versions over the last 3 , maybe 4 versions. Went as far a deleting the app and reinstalling but alas nothing new.
