Not connecting the grounds up as well are you? Don't connect a ground wire to the honda.

What's the load you're running? Connect up a space heater on high (1.5kW) before turning on the honda to see what happens.

howdy. I was using a rented eu2000 connected to o a heat gun pulling 750 watts. I tried it with and without grounds being passed.

Mind you for direct attach loads I would have preferred a ground. still, my use case only demanded parallel for home backfeed, so had the PB not faulted so readily I'd have been fine as I really don't care (don't want) ground for direct attach to a grounded home.

Bottom line: if the Ford is gonna be finicky in anyway than it’s not production viable for me. As I move into buying an RV I now have adequate power, and this will be fine for an emergency for the “average” home.

It is possible there was something amiss in my test? Yes. I'm going to retrace all the connects and be sure. 120V is pretty tolerant of getting the leg/neutral inverted at the load, so MAYBE I had one inverted relative to the other at the suicide cord. I'll check all the wiring again. Not a very large chance, but it's the only thing I haven't rechecked.

Checked. Nope, nothing inverted or reversed vis a vis 120V and possible reversed neutral. Rats. Time to move on to the next project.
