Once you have PowerBoost 2.0 up and running on an iPhone in your truck, if you then connect CarPlay and run your favorite navigation program (I use Google Maps) there is a very neat IOS feature that can be used to document information simultaneously on both the iPhone screen and the Sync 4 screen during a trip.

With the configuration above you simply say "Hey Siri take a screenshot" and both the iPhone screen and the Sync 4 screen will be captured to Photos on your iPhone documenting what you are seeing at that point in time.

Here is a sample:

A new version of PowerBoost is now available. For newbies and those with PowerBoosts from the 2021/2022 model year go to the previous PowerBoost 1.5 thread. Also you will find troubleshooting tips in the previous PB 1.5 thread to deal with installation problems you may encounter.

PowerBoost 2.0 was developed on a 2023 PowerBoost using 2023 Ford Enhanced PIDs. If you have a 2024 PowerBoost test it out and see if it works then report back here. This version of PowerBoost will likely not work on 2021/2022 PowerBoosts but I have not tried it. All the testing of this version was done on my 2023 PowerBoost using 2023 Ford Enhanced PID's.

This is a very busy screen. I use this version on an iPhone 16 Pro Max with the iPhone mounted over the vent just to the left of the Sync screen. I have not tested this version on a smaller iPhone screen or any Android devices. I have found it is less distracting while driving to present all the PID's on one screen rather than paging through different dashboards. Others may prefer to create several larger font dashboards. Not hard to do in the editor.

This version of PowerBoost includes a second dashboard screen that is a Apple Map rendering of your current position.

Give it a try on your various devices. Let us know if it works on 2024 and 2025 PowerBoosts.

Here is a direct link to PowerBoost 2.0 ".stg" file.

For anybody wanting to match the Ford Color Palette, you may be able to get the version in Ford Colors that works for AA and iOS on 6" screens. However, on my 24 Ultra the PPoB PIDs are not working.

EDIT 24/12/2: All Enhanced PIDs in the file work on both Android and iOS now. I had to "Rescan Supported PIDs" from Settings\Vehicle Editor (with S24 connected to MX2+) for some reason. Thanks Shubert at OBDLink.

Try this link if the PM doesn't work, change the file name to .STG from .PDF. OBDLink PB2 Android iOS 6 Inch Ford Colors.stg.pdf

I have a 2023 PB and an S24 Ultra. OBDLink iOS Settings Ford Colors with .stg file extension successfully downloaded onto device. I am guessing from this point, but I go to Settings > Import Settings > 'Select the file' > Select Settings to Import > this is where I get stuck. No matter what boxes I check (or don't check), I can't figure out how to get the dashboard to appear. Any help would be much appreciated.........Happy Thanksgiving!

I think I know what is at issue. Can you get the STG from here, https://1drv.ms/u/s!AntExoHXBt55i6QhJn2OkV5LzlklXw?e=ir6PXm ?

No experience with Android but if the .stg did not have settings included for import you will have to do your own settings. When you export a .stg file you have the option about what is exported. For my .stg file only formatting data for the dashboards was included.

@turbopilot @ReverendQ thank you for your replies...I got it figured out and the PB 2.0 with Ford color palette came through flawlessly on my S24 Ultra! For the record, I uninstalled the OBDLink app, reinstalled a clean version, imported this file OBDLink PB2 Android iOS 6 Inch Ford Colors - Copy.stg, checked all the boxes when prompted in 'Select Settings to Import', and voila...all good.

Post an image of your Android install with live data. Looks like some minor formatting issues between the IOS created version and the install on an Android device.

Thanks. Looks like some gauge labels changed position and font size has changed for most gauges but the data seems to be coming through fine. The SOC gauges seemed to have been setup with some limits as the background are throwing yellow and red alarms.

iPhone 16 Pro Max heads up. Many reports of these new phones overheating when connected to CarPlay via Ford Sync. I have experienced this myself.

Typical scenario. I drive with my iPhone in a cradle running OBDLike with PowerBoost 2.0 while the iPhone is connected to Ford Sync via USB driving the CarPlay display of Google Maps. After a few hours of driving the iPhone screen goes progressively dimmer until the backlight is essentially off. In this condition you can barely see the display but it is somewhat readable depending on sun angle. At the same time the iPhone is quite warm to the touch.

When this happens the iPhone continues functioning driving the Google Maps display on the Ford Sync screen and OBDLink continues to function. Apparently the iPhone progressively shuts down things like the screen display backlight when it senses overheating.

Until there is a fix from Apple I a'm looking into a couple of options including taking off the iPhone case and maybe a small USB fan behind the iPhone mounted in the cradle.

I have one of the pro clip dash mounts that sits just above the inboard driver side air vent:

I haven't run into the overheating issue you're describing yet in winter, but when it happened to me in summer I was able to just point that vent directly up and it gave the phone enough active cooling to keep it happy. Iphone 15 (regular model), no idea if the 16 pro max runs hotter. If I run into that issue in winter I suspect i'll be looking for a less trivial solution.

Thanks for all the great work and data sharing!

I have mine mounted in the same place. My iPhone 15 Pro Max did not have the problem. This just started since I got the iPhone 16 Pro Max. This iPhone 16/Carplay overheat issue is reported in other forums where OBDLink app is not in the mix.

I guess I have yet another reason to maintain my previous strategy of holding onto phones until they're basically unusable before upgrading ;) Good luck with a quick patch from Apple!

You may have considered these but both Android and iPhones, any phone can benefit from a) point a vent at it with cooling air flow b) shield it from the sun i.e. I put "clear" tint on my windshield c) use a cord if you can and d) turn the brightness down on the screen.
