The other day my running boards randomly deployed while I was working outside. I noticed the passenger side kick switch works and the driver's doesn't. Forscan has code B15D8:24 stored for Left Power Running Board Kick Switch: Signal Stuck High. Wiring looks good, so I unplugged the switch and plugged it back in. As soon as you plug it back in, the running boards cycle as if you pressed the switch. So, I figure that proves the switch itself is the issue.
I can't find the switch part number anywhere - it looks like it's part of the main running board itself (named "Mat") and is around $800. No parts diagrams seem to single it out, which seems crazy because it looks like it's intended to be a fairly easy replacement.
Anyone know the part number or have the same failure? If I can get the switch inexpensively, I'll do it myself. If the only option is replacing the whole thing, you bet it'll be under warranty at the dealer instead!
