F150 2021 powerboost RH power running board issues

If anyone can help me I've been at it for a while no luck.

My running boards when I sit in my seat and turn on my truck they sound like they retract and they do but the motors keep running.

I have this DTC:
C1009 - Right power running board position sensor

Says below :
FT: 3A - signal has too many pulses

Checked cabled going up into passanger seat no rips or marking.

Used FRDS to apply latest updates.

Replaced running board motor

I found a person saying to run a self test for the DSM. Running boards came out & in 3 times and aditional steps. No DTC atm. I can replicate the same issue when the car is running i open the door and the motors are still running a bit after full deployment

No fix and its random sometimes they close and stop. Sometimes it runs for a bit before it stops.

If anyone could help me I found this diagram and i was wondering if anyone would know where these pulses are coming from?

My guess would be the RIGHT RB HALL EFFECT Sensor
Should i remove my driver seat and run a new cable to the RH PRB?

I'd be looking at the wiring under the driver's seat. Especially if you have kids and or stuff jammed under it. Driver's seat module controls them. Unplug and plug all those connectors under there. Pin 19 and 20 in c315 would be suspect for me to be interfering with one another in that connection. Retest and see if it's changed the issue at all then if yes your in the right area. Just my 2 cents.

The issue is in the software itself. If your truck is affected (like mine is), there is nothing you can do. Unfortunately, FORScan is not set up to write files to the DSM, so you can't roll the software back to the previous one. Nothing you can do will make it go away. Ford has to fix the software itself.

Mine is worse. Once a week, the running boards will get stuck in a loop going in and out repeatedly. I have to pull over, turn off the truck, alarm it, unlock it and restart it to get it to stop. Happened to me on the way to work this morning.

Lol In their defense, all manufacturers have software issues.

I got really lucky today. It did again on the way home from work just now. /end sarcasm.

It looks like your truck doesn't like you and wants you to get out at speed. I would want to pull up some pids to see if that's being commanded somehow. Definitely an interesting one.

Good news!!! The latest version of FORScan beta can now write firmware to the DSM! I flashed my DSM with the old software a few days ago, and the prolonged buzzing running boards motor noise is gone and so far, my truck has not gone into a loop where the boards get stuck going in and out until I restart the truck! If anyone comes across this thread and wants to try the fix, message me.
