I'm looking at platinums. 701 A has the 8 speaker sound system like an XLT. Why? For a hefty $6k more you can get 6 more speakers and a moon roof. They don't even have HUDs correct? What is Ford doing? I want the 18 speakers back for 72k, not 8 speakers for 76k. This is ridiculous.

Yeah I couldn’t justify the platinum over my lariat high and I really wanted to.
+1

Also at the time I ordered, the biggest difference was the multi seats. I wanted to get them badly but I could not justify the added cost compared to a Lariat 502a with the BAP. YMMV.

It is a good thing to because when I ordered in Jan 2022 that spring the multi seats were deleted along with some other items for lower trims. (I just made the "built in nav") If I had ordered a KR or Plat for those seats only to have them deleted I would have had to cancel my order and start over.

With that said the KR and Plats are plush, no doubt, but a Lariat 502a is also.

And the fact that they were trying to cut back on the trims and related parts yet they now have a 703a Platinum that is basically the Limited. What was saved there? Even a new color for the interior and different 22“ wheels

It's been a mess since around May 2022 Build dates. I was VERY fortunate to have gotten a 2022 Job2 KingRanch that did NOT have the infamous Job2 deletes. It was built just a few days into Job2, and I'm guessing Ford had some component inventory leftover from Job1? I have no other explanation for how the truck arrived fully equipped, short of 1 tiny chip in the IPMA that nixed Park Assist.

I am so disappointed for my Blue Oval brothers who desire KingRanch/Platinum/Limited trim since. They aren't getting everything they are supposed to get and it sully's the value equation a bit.

I'm just amazed that at this point post-Covid that the components are still restrained.

I originally had a 2023 platinum ordered, built in november 2023, that lost a lot of electronics including the heated steering wheel, so I bailed on that order. Now I'm trying to get a 702 platinum because I can't stand the speaker system in the 701, but at this point a lariat is the much better option and it makes me sad. What is ford doing? If GMC seats weren't rock hard I'd go buy a Denali, which actually has features!

My. Nov 21 build kr only had one delete
The auto start stop
Plus I have the headrest speakers

Makes no sense
Kr and platinum by the insane price now. Should not be sliding to bottom of barrel in acrutraments

The decision makers at ford trucks division is missing the boat
Seeing the 24s missing things that should be standard in higher trims. Really makes me happy I have one of the near unicorns for my22

I was just thinking
Maybe ford is going to set up a custom shop off the assembly lines.
Like many firearms companies do
Have shopping list with items you csn put back in....al lacart?????
I say this as a joke...but...some of it is true
The explorer comes missing a crucial engine /transmission skidplate.....but ford accessories sells out of them in days each time a batch is stocked
And of course up goes the price
Maybe they are testing the waters

Now all those high luxury items are standard. I just wish I could get milk delivered again. :(

It is a mystery why they left the 701a trim so sparse. Yet, the KR, which is the exact same cost, comes with all of those things you say you want. The 14 speaker B&O (yes, it is better than the 18 speaker - much better), the moonroof, the HUD, the PAT (well, maybe). Point is that in 14th Gen 1.0 (21-23), Ford had a KR low (600a) and a KR High (601a). The 600a was like the Plat 701a is now - lower B&O, no Bed Utility Package, no power running boards, etc. The Plats had all that.

It's like they flipped the KR and the Platinum for 2024, which I recall Farley saying he wanted the KR to again be considered the top end of the F-150. My advice, get a KR.

Is the 14 really better than the 18? I listened to an 18 back to back with the platinum 8, and the 18 was better than the 8 speaker.

Also there are NO KRs available and I don't want to wait until November to get a custom build delivered.

I had a 22 platinum order that was build in Feb 22, it received several deletes. I ended up canceling the order and buying a 22 KR that was build a week earlier then my ordered truck that had zero deletes. No rhyme or reason to why some trucks had deletes and others didn't. Just the luck of the draw. I would have thought a truck ordered for dealer stock would have received the deletes and a customer ordered/sold truck would not. But that was not the case.
