Hi folks,

I am trying to run some wires for my dash cam, and I want to hide the wires inside this plastic cover/panel above the rear view mirror. Does anyone know if this is something we can remove and put back in?

Where do these pictures come from? Is this from a service manual, available to the public?
You can purchase a pdf copy of the manual and wiring diagram from factory-manuals.com for $99.00 this is what I use. And can be used on any device that can open a pdf file.

Your other option is a factory cd rom from Helm.com for 130 00 this only works on a pc though.

Follow up, what is that thing and why does it look like it has a power button?

Hi everyone, posting here in hopes of some assistance.
Would like to install a dashcam without unsightly power leads from the console up to the rearview mirror area.
My truck, 2023 F150 STX, does not have an auto dimming mirror, nor the power leads serving the mirror.
Is anyone familiar with the the 16 pin Type A adaptor, and any thoughts if it would be compatible with the headliner wiring harness shown above in image that @Big Dog Daddy posted above?

@brockevan. My truck has the auto dimming mirror with the 16 pin connector, so I was able tap power for my dash cam from there. But in your case I'm not sure. Probably the simplest route in your case may be to run a new power wire. You could start at the fuse box in the passenger side foot well, then run it behind the A pillar trim, easy to remove. And then tuck it between the front edge of the headliner to the mirror mount in the center. Just my best idea, there may be better options if you investigate a wiring diagram for you truck.

I just upgraded my mirror to a digital mirror, but I had a power dimming mirror prior. My original mirror had a 16-pin connector and that's what the Dongar adapter is for. I don't believe it will fit that green connector up there. Looks like you're missing the wires for the mirror, not sure if they're wired in on the female end of it.

I have heard of others running a wire across the gap at the front of the headliner, down the A-pillar, and into the fuse box in the passenger foot well. Might be a good option for you.
