While installing a replacement ACM yesterday, I dropped a nut driver bit into the dash. It sounded like it played plinko for a bit and then landed somewhere near the bottom. Does anyone have instructions for removing the center kick panels so I can attempt extraction?

I'd get a large magnet, like from an old speaker, wrapped with a light microfiber towel, rub it against that "possible" area, and hope it's close enough to get it out..

Pictures of what exactly you’re looking to remove is helpful, but guessing by “center kick panels” you mean the trim panels nearest the floor also assuming you have the 40/console/40 front seat. Passenger side is just clips, gently pulling on it will release, driver side has a single 7mm bolt right of the gas pedal and the rest is the same clips as passenger side.

No such thing as a “center” kick panel.

Thanks all. Sorry for the vague description, but @jasonkosi provided what I was looking for.

Well, care to share?
Apologies. I was refering to the two lowest panels under the dash on each side of the center console area (instrument panel lower trim). What @jasonkosi mentioned above is the passenger side is only held in by retaining clips where the drivers side has one 7mm bolt towards the rear and the rest are retaining clips. I stumbled upon the image below this morning when looking up something for the APIM. Sorry for the confusion and I will report back on if I locate the missing nut driver bit this evening.

Pulled the panel, but I found that it most likely landed in the area beneath the HVAC module. Looks like it's going to spend some time there until we get some warmer weather.

Might just have to live down there for the rest of ownership ? Just buy and replace with a new one. ☝?

Lol, your not wrong. Ironically, I had it all apart two weeks ago to add hill descent control and run the power and ground wires for a heated steering wheel. If only I had done the ACM first..

Ouch, yeah!

I mean, as long it's not sitting there rattling away, and becomes a huge annoyance, let it be.
