If you thread the needle it’s possible to find/build a Powerboost with decent payload. Not off the charts but decent. I have #1624 and there are some folks here a good bit higher than that. If I worked out of my truck I would consider it hard.

That's impressive.

That’s pretty awesome. My XLT 302a is missing the pano roof, FX4 and 20” wheels (I do have Max tow with the larger tank and upgraded rear axel) and my yellow sticker says 1779lbs. You’ve got quite a few supposedly heavy upgrades and only an 84lb payload difference.

Do you know your GVWR? Mine is 7150lbs.

Passenger seating is the other variable as some trucks have the front bench seat and so can hold up to 6 people with the calculations for 150 lbs per person. If payload is important it would be better to buy a F-350 truck.

I just picked up a 24 Lariat 501A, 6.5ft Bed, Supercrew 4x4, 3.5 Eco, FX4, Max Tow, Bed Utility Package (but with PAT delete) and payload is 1738lb.

I looked at a number of 24 6.5ft bed for sale. I looked at a 24 Larait 502A 6.5ft bed, 3.5 Eco, no FX4, but Bed Utility (with PAT) was 1700lb even.

I suspect with 502A, 3.5 Eco, FX4, and moonroof you'll be in the 1550-1650.

Fantastic. I am looking at the same, but with a moonroof. I have an idea what one weighs. I know FX4 adds a decent amount of weight from what the dealer told me.
Thanks!

Doer of stuff and things.
I have a 23 XLT 302A 6.5ft bed 4x4 5.0. I was purposeful about minimizing specs to maximize payload, no tailgate step/moonroof/fancy stuff. I have the tow package but not the Max tow package. It is my understanding that max tow will reduce payload vs standard tow package.

1904# for me.

As much as that would help. I work out of my bed often and I couldn't imagine not having that step. Also I'm a little spoiled coming from a pretty loaded Lariat. I don't mind giving up some of the stuff, but I like my panoramic sunroof. Appreciate the info!!!!

If payload is a concern it would be wise to start with a Super Duty model. My Chevy 2500 had a factory payload rating of 2800 lbs and had a rear axle rated for 11,000 lbs. It was easy to upgrade the rear springs and to put on tires with a much higher payload rating.

Have owned many over the years. Been in construction most my adult life. Was hell bent on a 250 for awhile. Don't like the new grill, drive like hell, a lot more fuel, and maintenance. Have to justify the added costs. Would look at used, but over priced and most beat up.

Can get a 24' cheaper and better interest. Trying to stay with a light duty. Bigger bed when I do my contracting and a little better towing because of wheel base.

This is not a factor in the payload calculation for the door sticker. The sticker on the door is minus any occupants or cargo, so 6 seats or 5 they are all considered empty for that number.
