Outdoor Temperature Reading

The outside temperature gauge on my Sync4 screen is always 8 to 10 degrees higher than the actual outside temp. Anyone know how to recalibrate it?

Maybe try a system reboot on SYNC? It could possible do a recalibration.

Is it higher when you are driving or is it when you are at idle? I don’t know any vehicle that is accurate while sitting still. While driving it should be within a couple degrees.

When driving. This my 3rd F150 and the other two were very close to the real temp when driving - within 2 to 4 degrees.
But this new one is off by 8 to 10.

Wow, that's a lot! I notice that my 2017 was always very accurate. However, my new '21 seems to lag initially until it catches up, but only sometimes. I haven't figured out how to reproduce it or what causes it yet.

I thought the sensor was in the front bumper somewhere.

Sensor is outside the truck (hence Outside Temperature). There is a chance it was bumped/dislodged/not assembled correctly and its hanging nearer an engine part or radiator. Had that happen on another brand car years ago. Snapped it back in it's location, and then was accurate.

I'm having the exact same issue with my truck. The temp is dramatically wrong after the vehicle is setting the sun (obviously) but quickly stabilizes to +6~8 degrees warmer than ambient once I'm moving. The issue is not limited to sunny days - It's consistently off when the weather is overcast and cooler.

On one hand, it's the temperature garage in my car and not a calibrated scientific instrument. On the other hand, every other vehicle I have owned over the past ~15 years has had a much more accurate temp readout.

Anyone have success with recalibrating or locating the physical sensor to check for damage or improper installation?

Still an issue for me. I've had so many issues with my truck that I don't want to bring back to the dealer again to have them take a look. I'll wait until I have to get the 5k service done which won't be for another few months.

Agree 100% that this gen truck, either the sensor changed or the location changed. My '17 was very accurate from the get-go getting in the truck. I have an interior temp sensor so I know that even when inside the truck was 120 degrees, the outside temp was say, 95 and agreed with what my phone said for weather.

The new truck, the initial temp getting in the truck can be too low, or too high. It catches up and is accurate after a bit but there is something different on this gen14.

Just as a data point, it's be crazy hot for our area the last 3 days. I've been watching my truck's Outside Temp quite closely, and it's been +/- 1 degree of what the AccuWeather app was reporting at the time. We also live up on a ridge, and with the climb in elevation it's always a few degrees cooler than in town. It's been updating as I drive up the ridge to match the drop as expected. So, while I wouldn't bet a pile of money on the accuracy all the time, it does seem to be capable of being on point.

Mine seems pretty accurate. High yesterday was 99 and the truck read 101 on my drive home after being garaged all day.
