Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but my 2021 F150 platinum 3.5 eco-boost temperature reading on the instrument cluster appears to be significantly higher than the actual outside air temperature. Does anyone else have this problem or have noticed this?

Today supposedly it was 91° in my town of Burleson, Texas and my truck said it was anywhere between 97 and 100°. Tomorrow I will verify it with an actual temperature gauge on my multimeter.

My 2011 F 150 had the outside air temp sensor just behind the grill. It would climb when sitting still and drop down when moving. When moving, the temp was correct. I heard the OSAT is in a mirror. Sun beating down on the mirror warms it up.

Is the temp always high or does it come down as you drive?

I've notice mine will read high like when I get in the truck after work, I just assumed it's the excess heat from sitting in an asphalt parking lot, cause it will come down as I drive home, and it gets rid of that 'urban' heat from just sitting all day baking in the sun. Also my truck is black, so I'm sure that hurts it a bit too.

It normally decreases a little bit, but it's still off and I've noticed that it's affecting the AC system. Especially since that's one of it's functions.
