I suppose thats possible but the indicators never went past ~ 12:30 and the numerals, for the few seconds they displayed, were in white. No other warnings

226°F engine temp and 236°F transmission temp are my personal best; up hill towing 7k in 4th gear at ~4500RPM & 70MPH with accelerator matted for 28 seconds

which I measured mine! Pulled 8K boat down the sierras to get serviced on the hottest day of the year (thus far). Triple digits in the valley to preheat everything. Engine temp went 1/3 of the way from dead nutz middle gauge (where it always is) toward hot/high. The real problem was trans temp. Right as I got to my off-ramp from I80 at 3000’ the trans temp went from yellow gauge warning to bright red maxed out (94* at that part of the drive). it’s a rare condition this towing scenario, but I wanna colder thermostat to offset. What’s the recommend temp?? The 180-170-160 thermostat?

CVF IC-Elec blowoff, CAI, Ruthenium plugs, Livernois Tune (likely the cause of high temp towing).
