Has anyone seen or heard of a hp tuners unlocked truck having problems with the OTA updates?

thanks
PW
My truck is tuned with HP Tuners and a recent OTA update returned certain aspects of my tune to the stock settings

Just don't tune the durn truck. It does nothing that matters much.
Clearly you haven't driven a tuned truck. The difference is night and day.

Anyone know what would happen to a whipple truck with an unlocked hp tuners ecu and oz tune? Revert to stock (super dangerous). Revert to whipple base tune, or not update?

I'd vote for not updating until you can pose the question to whoever did the ecu unlock/tune.

Spoke with Livernois in preparation for a trip to the dealer for warranty work

Anthony (I think) had a pretty laissez-faire attitude towards the OTA overwrite/dealer overwrite; he was of the opinion that if you got flashed back to stock, no big deal, just grab your new strategy code from the OBD port and fill out a custom tune form again on their website. They would be able to send you a tune specific to your new strategy, no concern about bricking.

Has anyone actually gone through that process with their livernois tune post-update and can confirm that it's that simple?

Anyone done this recently? I recall there being a thread where they didn’t have the latest strategy, any concerns doing a PCM update?

I’m trying to fix an acceleration issue.

I called Livernois and they were a bit ambiguous.

I flashed back to stock, the dealer flashed whatever the CDF drum TSB says to flash, I got the truck back and found that the strategy was the same, called Livernois 8 times but they never answered so I got impatient and flashed back to the tune I had before the CDF drum TSB even came out with no problems. I suspect I undid whatever the dealer did do when I flashed my tune.

So the TL/DR; might be that strategy hasn't changed recently, and I can confirm that whatever the dealer does, so long as the strategy you find with your MyCalibrator matches what it was before you took it in that you can flash back to tuned.

If the dealer updates your PCM and fixes your problem but the strategy doesn't change, I expect you would reintroduce your problem when you get home and flash your custom tune again.
